This substance is classified as Hazardous according to the criteria of Worksafe Australia. Not classified as Dangerous Goods according to the criteria of ADG code. 1. MATERIAL AND SUPPLY COMPANY IDENTIFICATION PRODUCT NAME: Monoethylene Glycol Recommended use: Heat Transfer Fluid for non-food industry applications. Supplier: Atherton Chemicals ABN: 96141442364 Street Address: 47 Industrial Park, Lilydale, Victoria 3140, Australia Telephone: 03 9739 4311 Facsimile: 03 9739 4355 Emergency telephone number: 0417145022 2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION HEALTH HAZARDS ACUTE EYES can cause moderate irritation SKIN can cause moderate irritation INGESTION harmful if swallowed. Large quantities may cause kidney damage. Irritation of the gastro-intestinal tract may occur with nausea and vomiting. INHALATION not a likely route of exposure. Mists or vapours may be irritating to eyes, nose, throat and lungs HUMAN HEALTH HAZARDS CHRONIC Contains mono ethylene glycol, which is toxic when swallowed. 100ml is considering a lethal dose for an adult. Repeated exposure to high doses by ingestion (animal studies) has caused kidney, liver and central nervous system damage SAFETY PHRASES Keep out of the reach of children. Keep away from food, drink and animal foodstuffs. Wear suitable protective clothing. POISONS SCHEDULE: S6 Poison. Issued: 25/10/2011 Version : 1 Page 1 of 6

3. COMPOSITION INFORMATION Material Safety Data Sheet CHEMICAL ENTITY CAS NO. PROPORTION Ethylene Glycol 107-21-1 100% 4. FIRST AID MEASURES If poisoning occurs contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (Phone Australia 131126, New Zealand 0800 764 766 Eye Contact Skin Contact Ingestion Inhalation Medical attention and special treatment: Wash eye thoroughly with copious quantities of water, ensuring eyelids are held open for at least 15 minutes. Obtain medical attention if irritation continues. Wash skin with soap and water as soon as reasonably practicable. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention. If a significant quantity has been swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give 2 glasses of water. Seek medical attention If inhalation of mists, fumes or vapour causes irritation to the nose or throat, or coughing, remove to fresh air. If symptoms persist obtain medical advice. As with any chemical, exposure by ingestion, inhalation or contact with eyes or skin should be avoided by correct occupational practices. Treat symptomatically. Ethylene glycol can cause central nervous system depression and metabolic acidosis. Consider removal by gastric lavage. Blockade of the diacid/hydroxyacid metabolites may follow competitive inhibition of alcohol dehydrogenase with ethanol or 4-methyl pyrazole. Consider maintenance of a plasma ethanol level of 100 mg/dl to 150 mg/dl. 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Extinguishing Media: Fire and Explosion Hazard: Choice of extinguishing media should be made by what other materials are present. Combustible oxides of carbon may be evolved after evaporation of all the water. Special Protective Equipment In case of fire, wear a full face self-contained breathing for firefighting: apparatus and protective suit Issued: 25/10/2011 Version : 1 Page 2 of 6

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Personal Precautions Environmental Precautions Clean up methods Restrict access to area affected until clean-up is completed. Use personal protective equipment as detailed in section 8. Do not touch spilled material. Emergency equipment should be available. Notify appropriate authorities. Do not contaminate surface waters depletion of oxygen in the water will occur. Soak up spilled material using sand or other suitable inert absorbent material. Place residues in a suitably marked sealed container. Protect drains from potential spills to minimise contamination. In the case of large spills contact the appropriate authorities. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Storage Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes. If splashing is likely to occur, wear a full face visor or chemical goggles as appropriate. Avoid frequent or prolonged skin contact. Wear PVC or similar gloves. Store only in original or approved containers. Store away from oxidizers. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION Occupational Exposure Limits Exposure Limits Ingredient name: Ethylene glycol (vapour) Ethylene glycol TWA STEL PEAK/CEILING PEAK/CEILING mg/m 3 mg/m 3 ppm mg/m 3 NOHSC 60 120 OSHA/PEL 50 125 Engineering measures Local exhaust ventilation should be provided Personal Protection Eyes Skin Hands Respiratory Use chemical splash goggles. Wear standard protective clothing. Wear any impervious gloves. Respiratory protection is not generally needed. If ventilation is inadequate, use respirator that will protect against dusts and mists. Respiratory protection should conform to AS/NZS 1715 and AS/NZS 1716. Issued: 25/10/2011 Version : 1 Page 3 of 6

TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION ACUTE TOXICITY DATA Acute Oral Toxicity Acute Dermal Toxicity Acute Inhalation Toxicity SENSITIZATION CHRONIC TOXICITY CARCINOGENICITY TERATOGENICITY The following results are for Ethylene Glycol LD50 (Rat) 4700mg/kg Lowest lethal dose (human) 786mg/kg Estimated lethal dose (human) 100 ml LD50 (Rabbit) 9530mg/kg (Rat) >5mg/kg This product is not expected to be a sensitizer Contains ethylene glycol. Repeated high ingested dosages of ethylene glycol in animal studies suggest brain damage, kidney damage, degeneration of the liver and changes in blood chemistry. Similar effects may be caused in humans by repeated and/or prolonged exposure. This product does not contain any substances that are listed as carcinogens. Ethylene glycol has been shown to produce teratogenic effects in mice when high doses were administered by ingestion. Issued: 25/10/2011 Version : 1 Page 4 of 6
