Curriculum Vitae Summary July 2018 Pedro Guimarães Cunha is Professor of Medicine at the School of Medicine, Minho University, Braga/Guimarães, Portugal. He works at the Hospital Senhora da Oliveira, Guimarães, Portugal where he coordinates the Outpatient Clinic of Hypertension and Renal Diseases in the Center for the Research and Treatment of Hypertension and Cardiovascular Risk (ESH Excellence Center). He also coordinates the Stroke Unit of that Hospital. He obtained his MD from the Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar, Oporto University and his PhD from the University of Minho School of Medicine, Portugal. He is currently a researcher of the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (IICVS) and the 3B s Government Associate Laboratory, from Minho University. He has previously trained at the Centre d Investigations Cliniques Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou, Paris, France. Professor Cunha is a member of the Portuguese Society of Hypertension, member of the Artery Society and Fellow of the European Society of Hypertension (European Hypertension Specialist since 2011, reaccredited in 2016). In 2014 he was elected Officer of the ESH Working Group on Hypertension and the Brain an in 2016 he was nominated for the Executive Committee of the Artery Society. In 2018 he was elected President of the same Working Group. He serves as a Board Member of the Internal Medicine Specialty College in Portugal. He is currently the Coordinator of the Iberian Network on Arterial Structure, Central Hemodynamics and Neurocognition (founded in November 2017). He has authored, co-authored and reviewed several manuscripts on hypertension and vascular aging in peer-reviewed international journals, as well as book chapters, and has presented invited lectures at international and national meetings and universities. He has collaborated in several international multicentre studies in the field of blood pressure, cardiovascular risk, large arteries, vascular and brain aging, as well as neurcognition. 2

July 2016 Cristina Sierra is Associate Professor, Medical Consultant-1 of the Department of Internal Medicine, Hospital Clínic, School of Medicine, University of Barcelona, Spain. She is a staff member of the Hypertension and Vascular Risk Unit since 1996. She obtained the PhD in 2002 from the University of Barcelona School of Medicine, Spain for her work on blood pressure and silent cerebral damage. The same year she obtained the title of Specialist in Arterial Hypertension by the European Society of Arterial Hypertension. Since 2011 is Investigator of the IDIBAPS (Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas August Pi i Sunyer; Barcelona, Spain), within the Group Vascular Risk, Nutrition and Aging. She has been Associate Editor of the journal Hipertensión y Riesgo Vascular, the official journal of the Spanish Society of Hypertension (2005-2011). She was officer of the Scientific Council of the Spanish Society of Hypertension (2006-2010) and the Secretary of the Scientific Council of the Catalan Society of Hypertension (2008-2012). She worked as post-doc fellow for one-year (2010-2011) at the Cardiovascular Prevention Center/Lady Davis Institute Laboratory of the Jewish General Hospital, in Montreal, Canada. She is currently the Coordinator of the Working Group on Hypertension and Brain of the Spanish Society of Hypertension since March 2012. Member of the Current Nucleus Officers of the Working Group on Hypertension and the Brain of the European Society of Hypertension since 2014; she was the Secretary of the Working Group on Hypertension and the Brain of the European Society of Hypertension from 2016 to 2018, and she is currently the Vice-Chair of the Group. Her main research is devoted to silent structural and functional cerebral involvement induced by hypertension and cognitive decline. She has published more than 100 original articles, reviews and editorials in peer-review international journals, as well as book chapters, and has presented more than 50 invited lectures in national and international meetings. 3

Dariusz Gasecki is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Adult Neurology in Medical University of Gdansk in Poland since 2014. He obtained his both MD and PhD from the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland. He is a certified neurologist with academic training and has over 20 years of experience in cerebrovascular diseases as the active member of the Stroke Unit in Medical University of Gdansk. He supported his training in Stroke Medicine and in Neurointensive Care at the University of Muenster, Germany. Currently Dr Gasecki serves as the coordinator of the Stroke Unit, as well as a member of multidisciplinary team at the Department of Hypertension (Center of Excellence ESH) in Medical University of Gdansk. He is member of the Polish Neurological Society, Polish Stroke Society, European Society of Hypertension. He was the President of the ESH Working Group of Hypertension and the Brain, 2016-2018. He is author of more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and invited speaker in more than 50 lectures at both national and international meetings. His main research interest focuses on arterial stiffness, acute hypertensive response, blood pressure variability and acute stroke. 4

July 2018 Dagmara Hering is an Associate Professor at the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland and a Professorial Fellow at Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, Australia. She is a medical scientist and clinical specialist in internal medicine (2007) and hypertension (2010), also recognized by the European Society of Hypertension (2012). She obtained her PhD (2006) and habilitation (2013) from the Medical Uiversity of Gdansk. Her clinical research has been focused on the role of the sympathetic nervous system and its reflex mechanisms, arterial stiffness, and haemodynamics in the development of hypertension and its progression including cardiovascular and renal complications. She has substantially contributed to the understanding of the efficacy of novel device-based therapies (i.e. slow breathing technique, renal denervation, carotid body denervation) for the management of hypertension, heart failure and chronic kidney disease. She has expertise in muscle sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA, micronurography), for which she is renowned internationally. She has worked at the Baker IDI Heart & Diabetes Institute, Melbourne, Australia (2011-2014) where she was acquainted with the state-of-the-art noradrenaline spillover technique. Between the years 2015-2018, she has worked at the University of Western Australia-Royal Perth Hospital to institute these research methods into new and continuing clinical research projects. She actively peer reviews over 30 international journals and is an associate Editor for the BMC Cardiovascular Disorder Journal and the Cardiology Journal. She is a member of the Polish Society of Hypertension (PSH), ESH, International Society of Hypertension (ISH) and High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia (HBPRCA). She has received a total of 17 of awards including those obtained from the PSH, ESH, ISH, HBPRCA, Polish Academy of Science, and Polish Academy of Science and Arts. She has been invited to speak and co-chair at ~30 international conference meetings. She is an expert author contribution to The Lancet Commission on Hypertension, and co-author of over 120 publications including original research papers, review articles, book chapters and editorials with over 2000 citations. 5

Professor Dragan Lovic, MD, PhD, FESC, FACP Prof.Dragan Lovic, work in the Clinic for Internal disease InterMedica. He is specialist of internal medicine and cardiology. Dr Lovic is at moment chief of Hypertensive Center. Prof. Lovic is mainly interested in research of performing twenty-four hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and analysis, examining the pathogenesis of hypertension. He is interested in coronary heart disease, neurohormonal activation and treatment of heart failure, arrithmias and Cardiovascular prevention. Prof. Lovic had over 350 abstracts and 50 papers published in international and national Journals. These have been in the fields of internal medicine, rheumatology, cardiology and hypertension. He was and is participant in few clinical studies and recent projects as well as a National Coordinator in 3 recent studies (Artemis Project, ESH-SHOT Project and EUROASPIRE IV Project). Prof. Lovic was invited lecturer on over 100 Meetings on Hypertension European and World Congresses as well as National Meetings in a field of Hypertension He is a President of the Serbian Society of Hypertension. Dr Lovic was also a General Secretary of Serbian Association of internal medicine since 2010-2014.and general Secretary of Serbian Cardiology Society from 2010-2012. He is member of editorial board of several international Journals and reviewer in ten international Journals. Prof. Lovic is elected fellow of European Society of Cardiology (FESC), and the member of nucleolus of the Working group `` Hypertension and heart `` of ESC (European Society of Cardiology) from 2012-2014. as well as a Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP). In the ISH (International Society of Hypertension) dr Lovic is serving as a member of RAG (Regional Advisory Group) for East Europe and middle east.2010-2014 and re-elect 2014-2018. July 2018 Efstathios Manios serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Clinical Therapeutics, Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in Greece since 2015. He is a Board-certified Internist (2006) with academic training and qualification in the field of Hypertension (European Hypertension Specialist since 2012). He was awarded a PhD for his work on blood pressure in the acute phase of stroke at the University of Athens in Greece. He received his training in Stroke Medicine at the Stroke Unit, Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, University of Leicester, General Hospital of Leicester in UK, supported by scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Hypertension. Dr Manios has over 15 years of experience in Stroke Medicine being an active member of the multidisciplinary stroke team at the Department of Clinical Therapeutics (Acute Stroke Unit, outpatient clinics). Currently Dr Manios serves as the Head of the Hypertension Unit at the Department of Clinical Therapeutics in Athens, Greece (Center of Excellence ESH). He is member of the Hellenic Society of Hypertension, Hellenic Stroke Organization and European Society of Hypertension. He is author of more than 90 papers in peer-review international journals and invited speaker in more than 100 invited lectures at national and international meetings. He has participated as co-investigator and principal investigator in several randomized clinical trials in stroke and hypertension. His main research interest focuses on blood pressure measurements, blood pressure variability, blood pressure management in acute stroke and secondary stroke prevention. 7

Currently, he is coordinating medical and scientific activity in the Heart-Brain Unit, of the Cardiovascular Institute of Buenos Aires (ICBA), heads the Heart and Brain Federal Network in Argentina and elected member of the Nucleus Officer of the Working Group Hypertension and Brain of the European Society of Cardiology (ESH). Dr. Vicario is Past-President of the Cardiology Society of Buenos Aires (2013), he has held different positions in the Nucleus Officer of the Argentinian Federation of Cardiology (2005-2015).
