6 Dr Lino Di Rienzo Businco is a Manager in the Otolaryngologist Division of the Santo Spirito Hospital in Rome and President of the non-profit organization SIDERO ( He is the author of over 100 scientific papers and 3 books of Otolaryngology, and has participated in numerous national and international conferences as a speaker. In recent years he has devoted his research particularly to the development of minimally invasive endoscopic methods of the upper respiratory ways, with a view to limiting traumas on adults and children. He personally designed some tools for surgical treatment with reduced invasiveness of respiratory syndromes, and codified and ratified the Protocols on the surgical measures for the recovery of lung function. As President of SIDERO non-profit organization has given impetus to the spread of all minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic techniques with an interdisciplinary approach that puts the patient at the centre of a multi-specialist team, with the aim of multiplying the opportunities for patients to benefit from these methods with reduced invasiveness and for physicians to be knowledgeable about the same.

7 He qualified as an ENT specialist in 2007 at the Medical University of South Africa. He worked as a clinical unit head at Steve Biko Academic Hospital involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate training. He has won several awards as an undergraduate student and also won a Carl Storz Trophy for the best young consultant in 2010 from ENT Society of South Africa. He has published articles and presented papers at international congresses and currently a reviewer for the Laryngoscope Journal. He published an article on the effective use of bleomycin in the treatment of benign parotid lymphoepithelial cysts in HIVpositive patients, which has now become part of treatment options for these patients. The Ministry of Health publicly honoured him in the Parliament of South Africa during a budget speech for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to patient care. He also serves on the Appeals Board of the Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa.

In addition to the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory and skin allergies, he is actively engaged in the management of severe food allergies with the application of specific protocols of desensitization.
