1 MEETING AGENDA What is Needed for a Comprehensive, Community Response to HIV? The Banbury Center, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York, USA May 13-16, 2018 This meeting was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Organizers: The HIV pandemic has created a long-term challenge for public health in low income, severely affected countries and communities: In the absence of an effective vaccine or cure, the burden of treatment of millions of people will need to be sustained for decades. In countries without a well-resourced and functioning health system, reducing the incidence of HIV will be a challenge that requires innovative thinking around community delivery and use of health promotion and health care. This Banbury Center meeting convened experts to develop an agenda to promote sustainable, community adoption of effective HIV prevention, testing and treatment.
