I was one of three supervisors for a successful PhD student at St George's University of London investigating effects of ischaemia reperfusion injury in gene expression in apoptosis. I am involved in the regular teaching and assessment of two Phase 3 student firms at King s College, London (Deputy Lead for one). I am also one of two supervisors for two PhDs at King s College, London and had two students who successfully received their BSc degrees over the last two years. 3 Chief investigator in a multicentre study investigating patients' views on kidney allocation in the UK. Leading this project throughout the London Transplant Units. Every year since 2013, I have been assessing the deceased donor transplant outcomes (with particular interest in Expanded Criteria Donors) at Guy s Hospital as well as presenting these findings at our annual regional audit meetings. Paediatric Audit: Lead an audit of our paediatric transplant programme at Evelina and Great Ormond Street covering 9 years and 350 paediatric transplants of which 90 were < 20kg. Revealed excellent organ & patient outcomes. Currently involved in the Laminate (Study using an implant designed to improve maturation and patency rates of arteriovenous fistulas), Humacyte (study using a bioengineered blood vessel for vascular access) and POWAR (study assessing whether antibiotics are necessary before live donor kidney nephrectomy) studies. Was the local principal investigator for ABOUT-K and National Audit of Cold Ischaemia Time studies. The former is a prospective, multi-centre, observational study, run by Birmingham and Guy's, evaluating an antigen-specific antibody removal protocol for ABO-incompatible renal transplantation in the UK. Was the local principal investigator for REPAIR, international study investigating renal protection against ischaemia-reperfusion in transplantation and recruited 38 patients. 6 Personal Statement I have been an ESOT member for more than 10 years. With my experience in all aspects of Adult and Paediatric Renal Transplantation, I would like to make EKITA more accessible to its members in order to promote its goals of exchange of scientific information, views and ideas in providing the best service for patients in Europe requiring kidney transplantation. If elected as EKITA Board Member, I would first like to create a map of all European Kidney Transplant Centres where all units will be visible. Then, I would like to promote the exchange of doctors, nurses and other allied members for short periods between different units to learn from each other s experiences. These actions will promote best practice, exchange of ideas and collaboration.
