I have been a Consultant here since May After qualifying in 1989 I undergone structured postgraduate training in general medicine for 6 years. I have more than 12 years of clinical experience in Clinical Rheumatology and have experience in all aspects of Rheumatology including rheumatoid arthritis, seronegative arthritis, low back pain, ankylosing spondylitis osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, gout, connective tissue disease and vasculitis. My Current

4 Rheumatology Clinical workload involves doing 5-6 clinics per week, seeing in excess of 50 patients per week. I am also a clinical teacher 3 rd Foundation Training Programme Director, Local Education Training Board East Midlands. I have a special interest in the management of fibromyalgia, low back pain particularly ankylosing spondylitis. I get special requests from general practitioners to give a second opinion on people suffering with fibromyalgia and low back pain. I have established close ties with the pain management clinic and the Physiotherapy service in managing these patients with fibromyalgia. My conservative estimate would be around 20 patients with fibromyalgia seen per month in my clinics MEDICO-LEGAL EXPERIENCE I have been doing medical reports since May I do around 5-8 reports a month with mixture of Claimants and defendants. Our case load includes personal injury claims, work related issues and clinical negligence cases, and I have previous court appearance experience in expert witness. I am constantly updating my skills by attending various training courses. 1. Attended the medico-legal expert course organised by British Medical Association, London. 2. Attended following courses and registered for Cardiff University Bond Salon certificate for Medico legal report and awaiting completion in Expert report writing skills - One Day Court Room Skills - One Day Cross examination Skills - One Day Civil Procedures - Two days.
