2 WELCOME FRIENDS, to the Martin Ranch 17th Annual Bull Sale. We were recently notified that Martin Ranch was named the 2005 Angus America Seedstock Producer of the Year. This award goes to the breeder whose genetics have produced the highest average premium per head on cattle marketed through Angus America. We are striving to provide our customer s with Balance Trait Bulls that perform well and have the carcass genetics to bring a premium on the grid and have the maternal strength so the replacement females kept back make awesome cows. We offer Free Feed, Free Delivery, 1st Breeding Season Guarantee and Volume Discounts. Scrotal measurements and ultrasound data will be available sale day. Bull s have been conditioned on a bull growing ration NO CREEP FEED. We do not creep feed. I believe fertility, soundness and a bull s ability to hold up through the breeding season is critical. Bull s that are fed too hard too long have trouble accomplishing this. I also believe evaluating the mother s maternal value is very important. She need s to calve, rebreed and maintain condition while raising a calf. The older more aggressive calves control the creep feeder s, therefore not allowing a true evaluation of a calf s performance or dam s ability to prove her contribution on her own. He is staying busy with FFA. He is currently on the officer team as Sentinal. He did get to go to the National FFA Convention in Louisville Kentucky in November again this year where he received a Gold medal in Ag Sales. Ty got started last fall going to some high school rodeos where he competed in team roping and calf roping. Ty won the Jr Heeling buckle at the SWNRC again this past year. 28 MARTIN RANCH was named the 2005 and 2003 Angus America Seedstock Producer of the year. This award goes to the breeder whose genetics have produced the highest average premium per head on cattle marketed through Angus America. Cattle from MARTIN RANCH were killed with a 50% premium quality grade carcasses and 82% choice or better with one pen averaging $58.43 per head premium on the Angus America grid. I look at our role in the seedstock business different than most purebred breeders do. Our main goal is to help customers make the most of their next calf crop. After a customer has acquired 100% of his bulls from MARTIN RANCH, we partner on or buy our customer s calves. Other times when the feedlot is full we will help market these calves to other feedlots that want to buy quality calves that have the genetics to gain and return a good premium on the grid.
