Acute Health Effects: Swallowed: May cause irritation to mouth, throat and stomach with effects including mucous build up, irritation to the tongue and lips, and pains in the stomach. May cause headaches and intoxication due to the ethanol ingredient. Eye: May cause irritation to the eyes, with effects including: tearing, pain, stinging and blurred vision. Skin: May cause irritation to the skin, with effects including redness and itchiness. Inhaled: May cause irritation to the nose, throat and respiratory system with effects including dizziness, headache and possible confusion. Chronic Health Effects: The Dimethyl Formamide ingredient is classified as CATEGORY 2 TOXIC TO REPRODUCTION: May cause harm to the unborn child, at concentrations >0.5%. Prolonged or repeated skin contact may lead to dermatitis. 2 3. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS Recommended use: As a fungicide for the control of Black Spot, Powdery Mildew and Rust in Roses. FIRST AID MEASURES Poison Information Centres in each State capital city can provide additional assistance ( ). Swallowed: If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Seek URGENT immediate medical assistance. Eye contact: If material is splashed into eyes, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, ensuring eyelids are held open. Immediately transport to hospital or doctor. Skin contact: If material is splashed onto the skin, remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with water and soap if available. If irritation persists transport to hospital or doctor. Inhaled: Remove victim to fresh air. Apply resuscitation if victim is not breathing. Transport to hospital or doctor immediately. First Aid Facilities: Eye wash fountain, safety shower and normal wash room facilities. Advice to Doctor: Treat symptomatically. 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES Fire/Explosion Hazard EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, foam or water spray. SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) required for fire-fighting personnel. If possible to do so safely, shut off fuel to fire. UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: The ethanol vapors from this product may travel or be moved by air currents and be ignited by pilot lights, other flames, smoking, sparks, heaters, electrical equipment, static discharge or other ignition sources at locations distant from the point of handling. FLAMMABILITY: Highly flammable liquid. Avoid all sources of ignition, heat and naked flames. 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Spillage: Keep unnecessary people away: stay upwind. Shut off ignition sources, no flares, smoking or flames in hazard area. Stop leak if you can do it without risk. Water spray may reduce vapor; but it may not prevent ignition in closed spaces. Small spills: Take up with sand, dirt or vermiculite. DO NOT use sawdust. Use non-sparking tools. Place into sealed, clean, labelled drum(s) for later disposal. Large spills: Notify Emergency Services (Police or Fire Brigade). Tell them location, nature and any information that would be helpful. Contain spill. Remove all ignition sources and safely stop flow of spill and bund the area. Blanket the spill with foam or use water fog to disperse vapor clouds. Consult an expert regarding disposal of this product. 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Storage: Store in a cool place and out of direct sunlight. Store away from sources of heat or ignition, strong alkalis, acids, combustibles and oxidizing agents. All equipment must be earthed. Store in original packages as approved by the manufacturer. Check all fittings, valves, piping and any ancillary equipment for leaks. Classified as a Class 3 FLAMMABLE LIQUID for Transport of Dangerous Goods. Store in accordance with Dangerous Goods (Storage & Handling) Regulations and AS1940 Storage & Handling of Flammable & Combustible Liquids. 8. 4 Skin: Absorption through the skin may be a significant source of exposure. Engineering Controls: Highly flammable liquid. Maintain adequate ventilation at all times, and may require a local exhaust ventilation system. Prevent accumulation of vapors in hollows or sumps and eliminate any sources of ignition. This substance may cause long term adverse effects in the aquatic environment. Avoid contaminating waterways. 13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS Disposal: In accordance with the Local, State & Federal EPA waste regulations. Advise flammable, toxic and environmentally hazardous nature. Normally suitable for incineration by an approved facility. Processing use or contamination of this product may change the waste management options.
