1 INTRODUCING THE FAR INFRARED SAUNA FOR DETOXIFICATION AT THE HIRANI WELLNESS MEDICAL CENTER Q: What is the best way to get rid of toxic chemicals including pesticides, heavy metals and hydrocarbon residues? A: The Far InfraRed Sauna (FIRS). The technology of the FIRS allows patients to tolerate the sauna better than the regular high heated sauna. It uses a heat energy that penetrates deeper into tissues triggering mobilization of chemicals from fat storage and into the blood stream, then finally into sweat. This is done at a much lower temperature ( F) and consequently is more easily tolerated by patients. The Mayo Clinic studies demonstrated that FIRS are the safest way to induce healing sweat using the most heat sensitive cardiac patients as proof! How do you know if you need detoxification? -- Toxic overload has been implicated in many health conditions, from fibrocystic breast disease (FBD) in women to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. Symptoms of overload include fatigue, headaches, joint or muscle pain, frequent colds and flus, signs of allergy and hormonal imbalance, chemical sensitivity, sinus congestion, psoriasis and other skin conditions, loss of dexterity, insomnia and more. 2 THE SAUNA DETOXIFICATION PROGRAM To Mobilize Toxins: Lymph drainage massage is optimum before the sauna. Other possibilities include exercise, skin brushing, niacin, enzymes (see Dr. Rogers book Pain Free in Six Weeks). Drink plenty of water. To Detoxify: Mandatory - drink the detox cocktail which consists of reduced glutathione 800mg, lipoic acid 600mg and vitamin C 3-4 grams. Other possibilities include 200mg CoQ10 and 2 Kyolic garlic pills daily. To Restore Lost Nutrients: One of the following is mandatory: IV mineral/vitamin therapy is optimum after the sauna. Other possibilities include trisalts, magnesium chloride, and mineral complex with 2 glasses of water (see Dr. Rogers book Pain Free in Six Weeks). Intestinal Healing: Colon Hydrotherapy is optimum otherwise detox enema is strongly recommended (see Dr. Rogers book No More Heartburn). Maintenance: Multivitamins, minerals, antioxidants, essential fatty acids as recommended by Dr. Hirani. In addition Phoschol 1 tsp daily and Pure Synergy green powder 1 tbsp daily. 3 SAUNA INSTRUCTIONS:! Please be sure to have you vital signs checked before use of the sauna.! Please be sure to have your bathing suit on as this is a co-ed sauna.! Please be sure you have brought with you at least 5 towels, one to place your feet on, another to sit on, another to keep around your neck to wipe off the sweat and two to wipe off after.! Please be sure to have on hand at least 2 quarts of water to drink if you are to stay for an hour.! Please take your detox cocktail beforehand.! Please, no shoes or sandals in the sauna.! Start with minutes at F. Then slowly advance to 1 hour at 130 F over your next few sessions if you can tolerate.! Stop anytime you feel increased headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, forceful pounding of the heart, fast heart beat, shortness of breath, dizziness, disorientation, weakness, muscle cramps or spasms or twitching.! After the sauna, be sure to wipe off completely. When you get home, shower immediately.! A mineral and vitamin drip is highly recommended after the sauna. If you do not plan to do one, please be sure to take the following: 1 tsp of your trisalts, 1 tsp of your magnesium citrate powder, and 1-2 of your mineral complex with 2 glasses of water before you leave. 4 ABOUT OUR FAR INFRARED SAUNA Our large, comfortable sauna is built by Heavenly Heat. Heavenly Heat saunas are not made like other saunas. Due to allergy concerns, common aromatic softwoods are not used, e.g. no spruce, pine, cedar, or redwood. There are no synthetics: no wood glues, fiberglass, plexiglass, plywood, putty, stains, or other potentially harmful products. Only premium grades of dry, untreated white poplar wood are used, including all concealed framing. Strong, heat-tempered glass is used for windows. The strength of the electrical circuits' electro-magnetic fields, relative to the bather's proximity to a heater is also a critical factor considered in the design of the sauna. The sauna is heated through a combination of low EMF infrared heaters and a stainless steel stone heater loaded zirconium stones. CONTRA-INDICATIONS and WARNINGS Please check with Dr. Hirani if you are using any prescription drugs for possible side effects due to interaction with infrared energy. It is inadvisable to raise the core temperature of anyone with adrenal suppression and systemic lupus erythematosus or multiple sclerosis by some authorities. If you have a recent acute joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours after injury or until swollen symptoms subside. If you have chronically swollen joint(s), please consult with Dr. Hirani prior to use. Vigorous heating is strictly contra-indicated in cases of enclosed infections, be they dental, in joints or any other tissues. If you are pregnant or suspect you are pregnant, please consult with Dr. Hirani. Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally (see below for silicone) reflect infrared rays and are thus not heated by this system. Regardless, please consult your surgeon in advance of FIRS use. Since silicone does absorb infrared energy, implanted silicone or silicone prostheses for nose or ear replacement may be warmed by infrared rays. Because silicone melts at 390 F, it should not be adversely affected by the use of FIRS, however, we advise that you check with your surgeon and possibly a representative from the product manufacturer to be certain. Heating of the low back area of menstrual women may temporarily increase their flow, please consult with Dr. Hirani should you have any concerns.
