To connect the AC Adapter, plug the power supply into the power connection port in the back of CSN, and then plug the power supply into a power socket, such as a wall outlet. erify the external power indicator ( ) appears on the touchscreen. 1 2 CSN comes with two removable, rechargeable batteries, and one internal battery. Depending on your settings, these three batteries may power CSN for up to nine hours. The battery icons in the status bar show the power remaining in each removable battery (left and right side), and in the internal (center, upright) battery. A lightning bolt indicates the battery is charging. To remove a battery, lift the battery tab until it clicks out of place. Then, use the tab to gently pull the battery from the well from the top. 1 2 To install a battery, place the base of the battery into the well first, and then press the top of the battery into the well. Press the battery tab down until it clicks into place. The tab should be flat against the battery. 1 2 CSN Placement Do not block CSN air inlets and vents. Do not operate CSN on its back or on compliant bedding, which may obstruct the airflow around it. Do not cover CSN with towels or other materials. CSN should be placed in a well-ventilated area, free of airborne pollutants, contaminants, and fumes. ver time, direct sunlight may compromise the integrity of CSN plastic housing or the entec ne-circuit. Place CSN in a location that is not exposed to extended periods of direct sunlight, and ensure the environment is within the recommended range of temperature, altitude, and relative humidity for CSN. 6 enteclife.com

12 The Pre-Use Test To ensure therapy is delivered accurately, you must perform a Pre-Use Test whenever prompted, the patient circuit is changed, or the device is powered on. NTE: Though accuracy may be reduced, CSN may still be used to provide ventilation therapy without running the Pre-Use Test. If time constraints make running the test inadvisable, press the button to immediately initiate entilation therapy. The CSN Pre-Use Test calculates the resistance and leak of the entec ne-circuit. Based on these calculations, CSN verifies the integrity of the entec ne-circuit, and also improves the accuracy of therapy. If used, the Pre-Use Test will also verify the connection status of the entec ne-circuit 2 tube. NTE: If entilation therapy is critical to patient care, provide the patient with backup ventilation prior to initiating the Pre-Use Test. Some control changes cause CSN to prompt you to run a Pre-Use Test. You may also press the Menu tab and then the PRE-USE TEST button to begin a Pre-Use Test at any time. To run a Pre-Use Test, carefully follow the on-screen instructions. When instructed, use a clean, gloved hand to obstruct the circuit completely, as follows: PRE-USE TEST If you are using an Active or Passive entec ne-circuit, block it at the exhalation valve. If you are using alveless entec ne-circuit, disconnect the mask to run the test, and bypass this leak portion of the Pre-Use Test. Leak in the patient circuit will be calculated and compensated for during use. If you are using a mouthpiece patient circuit, leave the mouthpiece connected, and block the open end. If the test completes successfully, reconnect the entec ne-circuit to the patient and resume entilation therapy. If the test fails, inspect the entec ne-circuit configuration for leaks or improper setup. Resolve any issues with the entec ne-circuit, and then press RESTART to run the Pre-Use Test again. 10 enteclife.com

16 xygen Setup xygen Direct therapy may be delivered from the internal 2 Concentrator in Pulse Dose mode (through an integrated oxygen tube inside the patient circuit). The internal 2 Concentrator will deliver the equivalent of up to 6 L/min of oxygen without connecting an external oxygen source. With external high-pressure oxygen connected, xygen therapy may be delivered as either a Pulse Dose or Fi 2. Additive low-pressure oxygen may also be used. Connecting External xygen High-Pressure xygen External high-pressure oxygen sources can be connected to CSN to provide xygen therapy in either Pulse Dose or Fi 2 mode. Low-Pressure xygen External low-pressure oxygen sources can be connected to CSN to add oxygen into the entec ne- Circuit. xygen from a lowpressure oxygen source is additive, and can be used in conjunction with oxygen from the internal 2 concentrator or an external high-pressure source. The flow of low-pressure oxygen is controlled by the oxygen source, not by the CSN oxygen controls. 14 enteclife.com

17 Suction Therapy The CSN Suction Cap and Travel Suction Canister The entec Travel Suction Canister has a 300 ml capacity. If the canister fills above the 300 ml line on the canister (just below the blue knob), a hydrophobic filter will activate. This filter stops Suction therapy and prevents liquids from entering CSN. Unlock and lock the CSN Suction Cap by twisting the cap. Lock and unlock the entec Travel Suction Canister by twisting the blue knob. The lock and unlock knob positions are printed on the front of the cap and canister. The canister knob must be in the unlock position to reattach the canister to CSN. nce reattached, twist the knob to the Lock position to secure the canister in place.
