4 LC-PUFA have scientific proven health benefits ARA: EPA/DHA: Beneficial for brain and eye development of infants Decrease the risk of cardiovascular diseases Reduce lipid levels in blood: prevent arteriosclerosis WHO Recommendation: 0,5 g/day of EPA/DHA (equals two fish meals per week) EFSA Recommendation: 0,25 g/day of EPA/DHA Typical Western diets contain 0,1 g/day of EPA/DHA Growing health awareness boosts market for EPA and DHA Increased demand in supplements (growing 10 % p. a.)
