7 Lipid Panel The lipid profile is a group of tests that are often ordered together to determine risk of coronary heart disease. They are tests that have been shown to be good indicators of whether someone is likely to have a heart attack or stroke caused by blockage of blood vessels or hardening of the arteries (atherosclerois). THIS REPORT IS FOR Ellen Ross COLLECTED: November 20th, 3:03 PM RECEIVED: November 20th, 6:03 PM REQUESTED BY: Dr. Rellen Eoss (503) 2X x344 Ellen s Cholesterol Ellen s HDL HIGH RISK (>240 MG/DL) HIGH (>60 MG/DL) BORDERLINE ( MG/DL) LOW RISK (<200 MG/DL) WHAT IS CHOLESTEROL? Cholesterol comes from two sources: your body and food. Your liver and other cells in your body make about 75 percent of blood cholesterol. The other 25 percent comes from the foods you eat. Cholesterol is only found in animal products. Ellen s LDL LOW (<50 MG/DL) WHAT ARE HDLS? HDL is the good cholesterol which helps keep the LDL (bad) cholesterol from getting lodged into your artery walls. A healthy level of HDL may also protect against heart attack and stroke, while low levels of HDL have been shown to increase the risk of heart disease. Ellen s Triglycerides HIGH RISK (>190 MG/DL) HIGH ( MG/DL) VERY HIGH (>500 MG/DL) HIGH ( MG/DL) BORDERLINE ( MG/DL) BORDERLINE ( MG/DL) OPTIMAL (<100 MG/DL) 99 NORMAL (<150 MG/DL) OPTIMAL (<100 MG/DL) 80 WHAT ARE LDLS? LDL cholesterol is the bad cholesterol. When too much of it circulates in the blood, it can clog arteries, increasing your risk of heart attack and stroke. LDL cholesterol is produced naturally by the body, but many people inherit genes from their mother, father or even grandparents that cause them to make too much. Your Analysis Good WHAT ARE TRIGLYCERIDES? Many people have high triglyceride levels due to being overweight/ obese, physical inactivity, cigarette smoking, excess alcohol consumption and/or a diet very high in carbohydrates (60 percent or more of calories). High triglycerides are a lifestyle-related risk factor; however, underlying diseases or genetic disorders can be the cause. WHAT DO I DO NEXT? Based on your results, we suggest the following things: Keep your cholesterol low by excercising. Remain active and exercise at least 3 times a week to maintain steady blood flow. Your results are overall good. Some notes we observed: Your cholesterol is approaching borderline high risk. Be mindful of this. You have maintained good HDL cholesterol. Excellent job! Your LDL cholesterol is approaching borderline high risk. Triglycerides are optimal. Great job! Eat healthy and limit your intake of fats. Drink 64 ounces of water per day and be sure to eat 3 square meals with 2 snacks a day. GET MORE TIPS AND LEARN MORE ABOUT R RESULTS AT HEALTHDESIGNCHALLENGE.COM
