Kunst - Grafik Kunst Grafik Lüthi Feldweg Niederwil Tel Travel report New York 12th june 2013 at 10 AM I started with American Airlines to New York. I had a place at the window and the place next to mine was free so it was very confortable for me. The route of the flight was going next to the Nordcap.

It was a comfortable flight and there was no trouble with the pass and custom control so I was soon on the airtrain and then I catch the subway for Manhatten. Suddenly I was standing in the middle of the city. And now I had to orientate myself where I was and where I had to go. So I only had to understand where is westside and where eastside, upand downtown. The peoble in New York are very friendly and while I was standing there and thinking about the direction I had to go a man asked me if he could help me. I was surprised because I was thinking that the New Yorker are just like the swiss arrogant and not polite. So he told me where to go and I was thinking that this is an exception... Then I wanted to ask for a taxi and there was standing one next to me. I told the taxidriver where I have to go but he told me thats so near, thats not worth to drive you. But I had to walk have an hour. I found the hotel easily and after checkin and changing my shoes I decided to go with the subway to the Broadway. I saw people try to catch a taxi but it was very difficult. And I found out that driving with the subway was not dangerous. In switzerland all the peoble told me that I have to go with the taxi because driving with the subway is soooooo dangerous. But I survived. So the next station was the Broadway, but the Broadway is a long street through New York. After a few useless changes of the direction I found the gallery but it was a bit late so it was closed. Ok I said to myself tomorrow it is another day. At a little shop I bought something to drink and a sandwich. I searched a little park I had seen before and I was sitting there eating and relaxing. The sandwich was so big that I only ate it half. What shall I do with the other part? There were a lot of homeless people in NYC so I had a perfect solution. I saw to older women sitting in a street and I gave them the other part. They were happy and I was happy. Also the homeless peoble in NYC are polite and when you don t wish to have contact with them they are polite and go away. Very tired but happy I went to the next subway station and to the Hotel. The Highlight of the day; I found the first time the right subway and I went out on the right station. I was so tired that I was going to bed soon and slept really deep till 4.50 AM and then I was suddenly awake. I wanted to sleep again but had no chance. So I used the time to plan the day because today there was sightseeing on the plan.

So I planned with which subway I want to go and after the breakfast I went to the Time Square. I was there at 8 AM so there was no chance to walk on the red carpet. But nevertheless it was impressiv. Then I went to the Empire State Building and I was on the top in a quarter of an hour. There was not a big queue because I was really early. Jet lag thank you!

There were a lot of chinese who made all the time fotos from themselves. As fast as I was on the top as fast I was down and I decided to go for a real coffee in the Starbucks. It also begans to rain so that was a good choose. What I was wondering that many peoble wear now rubber boots in all forms and colours. I was afraid that there were a message about a flood alarm but nothing happend.

I went with the subway to the other end of the city to the statue of liberty and the Wall Street. And now it was really raining. I was angry because I had no umbrella with me and I had to wait under a roof of a little restaurant. Then I saw a man with a little trolley coming to me and it seems for me that there were rubbish on it. He asked me if I want an umbrella and I told him No because I was thinking there was rubbish on this trolley and not umbrellas. After he went away I realised my missunderstanding and I was just thinking how silly I was. But soon there was coming another one and then I could buy an umbrella. So I had an umbrella and could walk to the port where I took this photo: This is just looking quiet harmless but on the next you see how it was raining.

Just thinking, give this poor lady an umbrella. There was no sence and I had not enough time to go with the ship to the statue of liberty and because time is money I wanted to go to the Wall Street. It was raining so strongly that I decided to wait there... Afterwards I was going on the Wall Street hoping to find somewhere a thousand dollar note but unfortunately there was nothing to find. So I went along the port to the Brooklin Bridge. I realised that the New Yorker were really friendly peoble. When I was standing there thinking about the way where to go only ten seconds later someone asked me if he could help me.

So I could straight away go to the Brooklin Bridge. Because my feeds are just hurting like hell and I wanted to go also to China town I decided not to walk over the whole bridge. I in China town there were a lot of restaurants so I had a difficult choose. There were a lot of beautiful restaurants but I choose a little one. When I went in the peoble looked at me as I would come directly from the moon. The gave me a seat in the mittle of the restaurant at the table where also the chief was eating. He was just looking like Dschingis Khan and when I looked at him he just throw me an angry glance back so I decided to ignore him. I ordered meet with tomato and rice. He ordered for me a spoon, I was surprised about this but he was more surprised when I ate all with the chopsticks. Now he was looking at me and when I was going he was smiling at me...

Taking another subway to my next goal I saw a violin player and I was surprised that also the New York peoble gave him some money. He was really playing good so I gave him also something. Now I wanted to meet the peoble in the gallery. There was a warm welcome and I was happy to see my paintings hanging just next to the entrance. I had time to go back to the hotel, take a shower and change my clothes. But before I wanted also to have a glance at the central park.. What do you think what I was buying next when I saw this camion!?

I was not a long time in the central park but it was amazing just having so much green in the middle of New York. Because rinding horses my hobby I had to take this picture. The horses were all in a good condition so first I was thinking that they are poor but I think they are in one way happier then other horses. After this I went back to to the Hotel for a short rest and then I was soon in the subway to go the the open receipt of the gallery.

Soon there were a lot of peoble and I had a lot of good contacts also to other artists. With a lot of cards and many new impressions I wanted to go back and eat something.

In defiance of all the warnings I took the subway back and you see I have survived. Very tired I was sleeping within seconds but at 5 AM I was awake again. So afther a short shower I could plan the last day. After a short breakfast and the check out I went with my luggage to the next subway station. I wanted to visit some gallerys and had a tip that at the lower east end there were a lot of them. After I could not find them I decided to go to the galleries I had contact before. In two galleries the responsible persons were not there but the third gallery was I direct hit and I could send them my documentation. Happy about this I wanted to go for lunch in a nice restaurant at chelsea. On the way I was suddenly standing in the middle of a market where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetable. Afterwards I had to go to the areoplane through all the controls. The flight was three hours to late but I slept during this time in the plane so for me it was no problem. At then we were landing in Zurich and I could go at home happy but tired.

After talking to his Mam, the doctor asked Paddy some questions and asked him to do some silly things.
