1 THE PARKHILL GAZETTE Publication of a newspaper in Parkhill began with the establishment of The Parkhill Gazette in Over the next two decades other newspapers were also published in the town. The Parkhill Herald was published for a couple of years in the early 1880s and The Parkhill Review began publication in In 1892 The Parkhill Gazette and The Parkhill Review merged to become The Parkhill Gazette Review. Then, in 1903, The Parkhill Post started publishing. In September 1909 The Gazette Review and The Parkhill Post merged and became, again, The Parkhill Gazette a community paper that continues to publish weekly to this day. * In spite of publishing beginning in 1870, only Parkhill newspapers dating from September 1893 are available. Earlier issues of these weekly papers were either burned in business fires or simply lost in the passage of time. The Parkhill Gazette Review and the later Parkhill Gazette have been microfilmed and are available at the Strathroy Public Library and the Parkhill Public Library. This INDEX summarizes the birth, death, and marriage notices (and some obituaries) that appeared in The Parkhill Gazette Review, beginning with the 7 September 1893 issue. This INDEX does not summarize the wealth of family information that appeared intermittently, but in some cases weekly, in the community reports from East and West Williams, Sable, Harpley, Ailsa Craig, Brinsley, Lieury, West McGillivray, Grand Bend, Corbett, Greenway, Forest, Sylvan, other local communities and Parkhill itself.
