Ovaries make hormones in a cyclic fashion with the ultimate purpose being reproduction. Ovaries contain eggs, and when the eggs run out so do the hormones. There are many misconceptions about menopause. The most common misconception is that menopause is like the flu. It is a temporary state and the symptoms will resolve once it is over. The fact is that menopause is permanent. There is no going back. Once the ovaries stop making hormones they never start again. Some women suffer greatly with menopausal symptoms and some barely notice the change. For those women who experience distracting or debilitating symptoms such as frequent hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, lack of libido and vaginal dryness, hormone replacement is an option that should be discussed with your doctor. Unfortunately, not all doctors are open to prescribing hormones for a wide variety of reasons. Hormone replacement is controversial. There is a fear that hormones cause cancer. There is a fear that hormones cause heart disease. Some doctors are of the opinion that women should simply put up with the symptoms. Generally speaking these fears are not supported by the medical literature, but the fears persist.

3 Page 3 of 5 Microneedling Microneedling Therapy, also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), and Percutaneous (through the skin) Collagen Induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of the MD Needle Pen. Microneedling improves skin's firmness while reducing the appearance of fine lines and acne scars. Micro needling is a non-ablative treatment that treats deeper levels of the skin without removing the top layer.

In addition, new capillaries are formed for improved blood supply. There is no burning of the skin like peels or invasive lasers.

Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body's natural healing process to fill these micro wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed for improved blood supply. There is no burning of the skin like peels or invasive lasers. The skin needling triggers the body's own reparative process to reach the desired level of skin rejuvenation.
