Bainbo/DSO Site : Yarwin Mehnsonnoh District/Nimba County Date : October 22, 2015 INTRODUCTION Communication in Surveillance system is the flow of information from one level to another level, when there is poor communication in Surveillance system to prevent and control diseases can be very difficult. To have effective surveillance system, there must be good communication system in Yarwin Mehnsonnoh District. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the problem of communication in Yarwin Mehnsonnoh District, Nimba County.

5 Method Yarwin Mehsonnoh is located in Nimba County, Liberia bordering with Bong, Grand Bassa and Rivercess with the total population of 33,251 with 3 health facilities. This study was conducted between September 30 th and October 19 th, Methods used to do these problems analysis are: 1. Fishbone 2. Critical causes 3. Health facilities workers interview A fishbone is use to analyze problems on a day to day basic in the world. This tool can be used in surveillance problems analysis. It consists of a cause and effect diagram which is drawn after critical thinking of various possible causes of the problem. Critical Causes problems This is an analysis tool used to analyze problems in conjunction with other tools. It consists of categorizing problems into three categories. These categories are labeled TPN 1. T is totally under your control. 2. P is partially under your control. 3. N is not under your control. RESULT T - Totally under your control P- Partially under your control N - Not under your control Staff Logistics 1. No cell phone Network 2. No internet service 3. 6 MOH to install HVF base radios to all health facilities in Yarwin Mehnsonnoh District, Nimba County To encoverage surveillance focus persons at all health facilities to find a possible location of cell phone network to call and give their report on every Friday from 4 5 pm except for emergency during Saturday and Sunday. On job training for health facilities staff on the important of surveillance communication.
