Epidemiological Highlights Daily EVD Situational Report Kambia District, Sierra Leone: 04 July 205 Epidemiological Updates as of 04 July No new EVD case was reported on July 04, A total of 22 alerts (8 death and 4 live), were made to the DERC today - Twenty two samples (5 swabs and 7 blood) were today processed by the Kambia laboratory - Six (6) suspected cases were released from Kambia ETC after testing negative for EVD - Fifteen contacts to be relocated from Layah Gboro to Layah Matmarant village tomorrow 2. Cross Border / Inter-district Surveillance Inter-district surveillance: There were no new EVD cases reported from Port Loko district today The current hotspot villages in Port Loko remain MATHIANAL BANAH village from Maforki, MABANKRA village from Masimira chiefdom, Tagrin and Rotifunk villages from Kaffu Bullom and Mamusa village from Marampa Cross border surveillance: On 3rd July 205, Forecariah reported 2 new EVD cases, one from Benty and the other from Fanye village in Coyah. Benty happens to be bordering Samu chiefdom of Kambia district Geographically, the trend of the EVD epidemic in Guinea is moving from the northern part to the southern part of Forecariah. Forecariah reported a total of 4 new EVD cases during the last 2 days. Of these, 0 were from Benty, 2 from Farmoriah, from Moussayah and 3 from Sikhourou. Currently, Forecariah has a total of 707 contacts on register still being monitored 8. Activities Carried Out Today Today the teams in Kambia finalized preparations to relocate 3 contacts from 5 households from Layah Gboro to Layah Matmarant village, which is scheduled for tomorrow. These are contacts of the late Osman Sessy, a positive swab registered in Samu chiefdom during the week. Layah Gboro happens to be quite inaccessible and not motorable, hence the decision to relocate them to a more accessible location, for purposes of easy access for regular monitoring and in case there was need to evacuate the sick.

6 A temporary camp has been erected at Layah Matmarant village in Samu chiefdom, and it is here that these families will be temporarily housed, until the end of quarantine period. The camp has been dubbed Camp of Hope. Other activities included; Surveillance and contact tracing activities in the villages of Kadalo and Kagboto Continued case investigation and line-listing the contacts in Kamanko village Continued case investigation and line-listing the contacts in Samu chiefdom Responded to alerts, both death and live Maintained routine surveillance activities in the various chiefdoms across the district Partner Organizations
