2 Thank you for registering your child to attend our fun-filled summer camps. Our camps are packed with many opportunities to learn, make friends with other Deaf or Hard of Hearing kids, and explore other activities not available during the school year. The Ohio School for the Deaf offers week-long residential summer camps* on multiple topics. Below are a few things that are important to know about our summer camps. All camps will be held at Ohio School for the Deaf 500 Morse Road Columbus, OH All camps are residential camps except for the Life Skills DeafPlus day camp. For residential camps, campers will sleep in dorms Sunday evening through Friday morning. Campers must be potty-trained and be able to independently dress & shower to stay in the dorms. Residential camp registration begins Sunday evening at 5:30pm; for Life Skills DeafPlus registration is Monday morning at 8:30am. Camp ends each Friday at 3:00pm. Parents are expected to pickup their student Friday afternoon by 3:00pm at the conclusion of the camp, unless an earlier time is stated in the confirmation letter for a specific camp. Three meals will be provided each day, plus light snacks. Students are allowed to bring a few of their own snacks from home that will be kept in the dorm. The snacks need to fit in a breadbox-sized plastic container labeled with the student s name on the outside. The grade requirement for each camp is for the incoming grade for the school year. Each camp will have a maximum of 16 campers (unless otherwise indicated) and a minimum of two teachers. Evening activities and camp specific fieldtrips will be planned to provide extra social time for the campers. Permission forms will be sent with confirmation paperwork. The cost for each camp is $25. The registration fee covers all fieldtrips and dorm activities for the week. We cannot hold spots for unpaid registrations. Registration and payment must be received by Wednesday May 1. Space is limited for each camp and are filled based on a first come, first served basis.
