The Ceramill system enables correct transfer using the Ceramill Transfer kit a combination of transfer stand (Ceramill Fixator) and model holder on a Splitex base, which is used for holding the scan model in the scanner. The Ceramill Fixator enables transfer of the model in the scanner while retaining the axis relation of the real articulator. Highly sensitive 3D sensors provide a precise image of the model. 20 SYSTEM COMPONENTS ceramill map400 Speed and precision in harmony ISS (Intelligent Scan Strategy) is a scan mode for a shortened scan process due to reduced manual intervention during scanning. In the ISS mode the directly adjacent (jaw) segment of every second tooth is removed from the model of the jaw. The gap created provides sufficient free space for scanning the proximal regions. Example: in the case of a model with 16 segmented teeth up to 8 teeth are scanned in one scanning cycle without manual intervention. This reduces manual intervention to 2 working stages. A particularly large measuring field enables quick, precise scanning of the entire model. ceramill multicap Ceramill MultiCap is a scan mode, which with the aid of a special multiple holder simultaneously scans individual dies independent of the jaw or patient. This allows rapid digitisation of dies, which are intended for offset crowns and which do not require any relationship to adjacent teeth or opposing dentition. Placing the dies in the multiple holder allows up to 12 dies to be scanned in one scanning cycle without manual intervention. D 20

Amann Girrbach decided on a cooperation partnership with 3Shape and now provides an IOS system that integrates perfectly into the Ceramill workflow with Ceramill TRIOS. The Ceramill TRIOS intraoral scanner not fulfils the high standards of precision which Amann Girrbach requires for integration in the process. Tools and functions of the Ceramill Mind Wizard can be used independent of the indication The Ceramill Mind Wizard was developed to orientate the Ceramill Mind interface as much as possible to the dental technology workflow. As a floating, dynamic window the Wizard guides the user not precisely and efficiently through the entire design process but also shows the tools and instruments available to optimise creation of the design. The function Freeforming for example can be used for adjusting and customising the tooth shape. The function Freeforming in the Ceramill Wizard enables customised design of tooth cusps, ridges or the entire tooth. Occlusal surfaces and fissures can be custom finished by adding or removing material using the Knife tip. The function can be efficiently integrated in the personal workflow by assigning key combinations. An optimal basis for the porcelain veneer and the associated interference-free function of the restoration can be reliably designed by mirroring the existing teeth. With manual production of dental prosthesis working with the articulator is standard for dental laboratories. In order to achieve the same quality of the works virtually, it is logical and consistent to enable this by means of a CAD/CAM system. The virtual articulator Ceramill Artex serves as a bridge between manual and digital techniques: The model pair in the Artex articulator is transfered to the Map400-scanner while holding the same Artex mode by means of the Ceramill transferkit; it is subsequently scanned-in in the appropriate proportion. The movement options of the Artex CR are thus synchronised digitally and manually. Apply adhesive to the upper edge (B) of the titanium base. Rotate the abutment when fitting it to the titanium base, to ensure distribution of the adhesive. Once resistance is felt, detect the final position by rotating the abutment. The abutment must fit flush with the titanium base. Remove large amounts of adhesive residue immediately. Remove the excess after the adhesive has cured using a silicone polisher. Remove the wax in the screw channel and clean the abutment together with the titanium base. D 44

47 SYSTEM COMPONENTS ceramill m-build Digital model fabrication using Ceramill CAD/CAM Digital fabrication of models is a logical consequence if it is not intended to fabricate chairside indications on the basis of intraoral scan data. A model is always necessary if manual working stages or controls are required. In the digital model fabrication concept the intraoral scan data are integrated in model software. Models are designed using the software. These model data can then be outsourced for fabricating via the Amann Girrbach M-Center or in future milled inhouse using the Ceramill Motion 2 (5X). THE INITIAL SOLUTION Outsource with Ceramill M-Center Models can be designed and then fabricated in the manufacturing centre using the model software. Virtual drill holes are already placed using the software. These are already integrated in the supplied model. The pins are then placed and fixed in a standard plaster base. After hardening, the dies can be sectioned by the dental technician in the usual way, which not guarantees the required precision but also creates the necessary space for veneering.
