3 ThreadLock TS Smart ThreadLock TS Smart Anatomically preshaped, fixed-angle plates for mandibular reconstruction and fracture treatment Intraoperative contouring of large reconstruction plates to three-dimensional anatomy remains a challenge. Saving time and preventing repeated bending attempts has been our design goal for our 3D prebent ThreadLock TS Smart reconstruction plates. Today, patient-specific implants are becoming more and more important. They are ideal for a planned case, however, sometimes a product is needed immediately off the shelf. In these cases, preformed reconstruction plates following the shape of the average mandible may offer an interesting alternative. Indications Mandibular reconstruction with vascular or non-vascular bone grafts Temporary bridging of continuity defects (3.0-mm plates) Treatment of comminuted mandibular fractures Treatment of fractures in highly atrophic mandibles 3
4 ThreadLock TS Smart Feature, Function and Benefit Bendable section Rigid section Our 3D prebent ThreadLock TS Smart reconstruction plates follow the shape of the average adult mandible. Therefore, only minimal intraoperative adaption may be required to adhere to the surface of the bone and perfectly fit the patient s mandible. This not only reduces time in the OR and limits deformation of the threaded hole geometry but also allows a reduction of stress in the plate compared to conventional intraoperative bending of non-preshaped plates, reducing the risk of fatigue fracture of the plate. 4
