1 Biocard Biocard Quant Reader is a quantitative desktop reader for all Biocard rapid cardiac tests: Troponin I, Myoglobin, CRP, hscrp, MPO and CK-MB. It has a embedded printer and is able to store data upto 1000 patients. It automatically recognizes the test from the barcode on the test casette. Hs CRP Biocard hscrp Quantitative Rapid Test (Cat.No , 10 Tests) Biocard hscrp is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the quantitative detection of elevated levels of CRP from whole blood samples for prediction of coronary events. The test is CE marked and compatible with both AMI Predictor Reader and the new Biocard Quant Reader. 5. 5 CLIN CHECK PLUS Clin Check Plus is an interferential filter photometer, designed for a precise and fast execution of the most important tests of Clinical Chemistry and Hematology. The Clin Check Plus has 40 programs: 01-26: programs are already set for the determination of the analytes mentioned above; 27-30: the last four are open which means that new analyses can be introduced in them : Multistandard. However, all the programs can be modified, except for WBCH and WBTR, (Cholesterol and Triglyceride Tests on whole blood) due to technical reasons. All Clinical tests must be performed on serum except for Cholesterol, Glucose and Triglycerides Tests, which can also be performed on whole blood, using 10 µl of blood obtained, for example, by pricking a finger. Three Hematological parameters can be also be determined: Erythrocytes, Hematocrit and Hemoglobin. Each test requires only 5 µl of whole blood. Multistandard test up to 7 standard. Standard value and concentrations are stored in non volatile memory. The execution of the analyses and programming the instrument are simple and guided by the instructions shown on the display. It is possible to select a language among German, Italian, French, English. The light source of Clin Check Plus is a 2 W tungsten lamp: this enables the instrument to read in the UV range too. 5 interferential filters are incorporated: the proper wavelength of the Test is automatically selected by microprocessors. Iit is possible to add a sixth filter, upon request. The instrument has a 2-position Dry Block Incubator at 37 C ; the Reading compartment is also at 37 C to ensure a constant temperature during the Reaction Time. The thermostat turns on automatically when the instrument is

6 switched on. It is possible to connect the Clin Check Plus to a serial printer or to a computer for Data Elaboration. All Clin Check Plus instruments are subjected to complete Quality Control: electrical, photometric, clinical and chemical controls by the manufacturer himself. Comparing various Clin Check Plus, you will note that the K-factor for the Erythrocytes test is different between different instruments. The K-factor for Hematocrit test varies also. The K-factors for the other tests remain the same in all instruments. This is because Erythrocytes and Hematocrit are determined turbidimetrically by means of the diffused beam at 90 ; the intensity of such a beam can vary in a sensible way, depending on the optical parts of each single instrument. Therefore, each single Clin Check Plus is calibrated in our laboratories to guarantee a higher precision in the results. The other analytes are determined by a colourimetric reaction according to the Lambert-Beer Law. 7 EVOLUTION SEMI-AUTOMATIC LABORATORY ANALYSER FOR CLINICAL CHEMISTRY TESTS INSTRUMENT DESCRIPTION OPTICS The optical part is very sophisticated: it consists of a high-power halogen lamp (20 W) whose light beam is centered by a quartz lens, thus allowing a high accuracy in measurements even when reduced-volume cuvettes are used. INCUBATOR A 10-position dry incubator which can contain both square and cylindrical cuvettes allow the sample incubation before reading. The temperature of the incubator is equal to the one of the reading cell and can be regulated from 20 C to 40 C. The execution of the analyses and instrument programming are simple and performed by means of a keyboard, following the instructions shown on the display. This display also shows the status and error/fault messages. The analytical results are directly displayed in the measuring units selected by the current program. LANGUAGE The language of instructions can be selected between English and Italian. Two other languages are avalaible on request. The instrument is provided with a 24-column thermal printer that can print analytical results as well as program parameters. All printed information is sent to a serial RS-232 standard output. The printer can be disconnected and data logged in PC. An advanced software guides and controls all operations carried out by the user. An acoustic signal further helps the user, by emitting a sound of a different tone from the usual one, it means you pushed the wrong key. MEMORY Up to 120 programs can be stored in the EEPROM inside the instrument. The instrument is supplied already programmed. Instrument is equipped with non volatile result memory. Up to 400 results can be stored inside, for later or end-of-day recalling. Result may be recalled by Test, Date or ID.Sample ID number is selectable

The user can interact with the analyser by the 8-keys keyboard on the instrument or by an external PS-2 keyboard. The User's manual explains how to execute tests and to customize execution modalities. The software allows a lot of settings for the analyser, for example you can choose your favourite language.
