4 Pregnancy Tests The Suresign Pregnancy Tests are qualitative urine tests that detect human Chronic Gonadotropin (hcg), which is produced 48 to 72 hours after conception and can normally be detected seven days following conception due to the rapid rise in hcg levels. The test is a rapid, one-step lateral flow immunoassay and is conducted by urinating on the absorbent tip or immersing it in urine, and obtaining the result from the coloured lines. Detailed instructions are included to enable the testing to be carried out at the appropriate time. 5 Ovulation Test The Suresign Ovulation test detects the release of Luteinsing Hormone (LH) prior to ovulation and is a positive indication of the best time for conception. Older women can find it more difficult to conceive and this test helps to target the most fertile period. The test is a rapid, one-step lateral flow immunoassay and is conducted by urinating on the absorbent tip or immersing it in urine, and obtaining the result from the coloured lines. Two positive results a week apart indicate the onset of the menopause and allow women to change their diet or food supplements as required to avoid any health risk associated with menopause. 7 Total Cholesterol Test The Suresign Total Cholesterol test is a colorimetric enzymatic assay for the semi-quantitative determination of cholesterol in whole blood. A sample of the blood is absorbed on to a receiving pad on the back of the test strip and reacts with the reagents producing a colour which can be related to the cholesterol concentration in the blood by comparison with supplied colour chart. The presence of glucose in the urine is called glycosuria or glucosuria, which is normally an indicator of the onset of diabetes, but can also indicate glucose release from the kidneys into the urine (renal glycosuria) and pregnancy.
