2 Current challenges to the State of Qatar s population health Population amongst the fastest growing in the world since % increase in the population between October 2014 and October 2015 Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) responsible for majority of deaths 24% NCDs accounted for 69% of all deaths: Cardiovascular diseases 18% Cancer 21% Injuries 6% Diabetes Top five risk factors for mortality include poor diet and physical inactivity 70% of Qatari nationals are overweight, of which over half are obese

11 Pillar 5: Information Management Strategy outcome: More integrated, accessible, functional and user friendly diabetes information management Centralised diabetes registry and appointment/referral portal Comprehensive view of diabetes status, care plan and compliance through continuous collection of information
