5 1. General Information 1.1. Introduction The Gymnastics for All Committee (GFAC) is committed and dedicated to the advancement of Gymnastics for All programming in Alberta. This handbook provides the governing rules that were developed to assist in and guide all those involved in the enhancement of the sport. Gymnastics for All members make up the largest group in the AGF membership. Gymnastics for All gymnastics in Alberta is considered preschool, performance or demonstration of all ages and abilities. The GFAC is responsible for ensuring that this large user group has a voice as well as an opportunity to grow and develop in Alberta at the highest of standards Goal / Mission Statement It is the goal of the GFAC, in conjunction with AGF, to increase and enhance the participation of general/ Gymnastics for All in Alberta, by inspiring coaches and athletes to achieve their personal best, provide opportunity/ platform for Gymnastics for All to be demonstrated, to provide opportunity for individuals to participate in gymnastics in a noncompetitive arena and to develop guidelines to provide a fair and safe environment for athletes and coaches Strategic Plan The focus of the Plan is to continue to increase the capacity of the member clubs, improve program performance and expand social media. The priorities for this Strategic Plan include: Club Support and Development, Coaches and Judges Development, Gymnastics Awareness, and Athlete Support and Leadership. 2. Program Structure 2.1. Gymnastics for All Assembly Notice A written or electronic notice stating the day, hour and place of meeting and, if special business is to be transacted not less than 21 days and not more than 50 days (exclusive of the day of mailing and of the day for which notice is given). Quorum A quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting of members shall consist of at least one third of the members in good standing or ten members whichever is the lesser. If a quorum for a meeting of members of the Society is not present within thirty minutes of the time fixed for the meeting those members, then present and entitled to vote shall constitute a quorum. 1

6 Role of the Gymnastics for All Assembly To provide direction to the GFAC. To consider and adopt program guidelines that will determine program conditions and participation within the community. To facilitate communication with the AGF member clubs. To elect, every other year, one Chairperson and two Coordinators at the Gymnastics for All Assembly meeting. To elect, alternating years to the Chairperson and two Coordinators, two Coordinators at the Gymnastics for All Assembly meeting Notification to Annual GFA Assembly Notification will occur at least ninety (90) days in advance of the Gymnastics for All Assembly the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator shall request for nominations to all members. Members shall forward their nominations to the Gymnastics for All Coordinator 45 days in advance of the Gymnastics for All Assembly. The list of nominee s s to be circulated to the members of the Federation a minimum of 30 days in advance of the Rec Assembly meeting Composition/ Voting Privileges The Gymnastics for All Assembly will be made of program representatives of the AGF member clubs, any interested person affiliated with an AGF member club or any associated member. All those in attendance will be eligible to participate in the various discussions. One vote per registered member club based on the club s previous registration. Proxy votes will not be permitted. Proxy voting is not permitted at meetings. Telephone participation-a member or any other person entitled to attend a meeting of members of the Society may participate in the meeting by means of telephone or other communication facilities that permit all persons participating in the meeting to hear each other, subject to the Society making such technologies available, and a person participating in such a meeting by those means is deemed for the purposes of the Act to be present at the meeting. Neither the GFAC members nor the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator will possess a vote. The GFAC Chair will vote in the event they are casting the deciding vote. Voting decisions will be based on majority rules (50% + 1). Assembly meetings will be held annually in conjunction with the AGF Annual General Meeting and Awards Banquet. Election Procedures (see also Appendix) Nominations 2

7 Election Procedures (see also Appendix A) Nominations Nominations will NOT be accepted from the floor at the time of the Assembly meeting. However, if there are insufficient number of nominees then nominations will be accepted from the floor provided that two-thirds of the eligible votes cast at the Assembly meeting agree. The nominee will be given the opportunity to speak for up to three minutes maximum. No more than one other individual may speak for the nominee up to a maximum of two minutes Voting Shall be conducted in accordance with Bylaw 6 Meetings of Members, section 9 Votes At the beginning of GFA Assembly each club will identify the voting member represented. The candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected. If a tie occurs additional ballots shall be cast until one candidate receives a majority All ballots will be destroyed following the completion of the elections. 3. Gymnastics for All Development Committee (GFAC) 3.1. Scope The members of the GFAC (chair, committee and member(s) at large) will work to establish the necessary framework to support the discipline of Gymnastics for All and the ideal pathways for participants (athletes, coaches, and clubs) to be involved in successful programming (performance, workshops, etc.) that fosters the development of physical literacy and long-term athlete development (LTAD), at all levels and develop a strong sense of community Authority The members of the GFAC will work to operate on a consensus model. The group will work collaboratively and maintain a global perspective optimal for the development of Gymnastics for All in Alberta, in conjunction with the strategic plans of both Gymnastics Canada (GCG) and Alberta Gymnastics Federation (AGF). Recommendations made will be subject to approval by the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator and the AGF CEO/President The GFAC Roles and responsibilities Responsibilities Provide guidelines for programming that fosters physical literacy, long term athlete development and is consistent with Gymnastics Canada programs such as CanGym and other programs like CanJump. Provide information and educational opportunities for Gymnastics for All coaches and administrators. Host events that enhance Gymnastics for All participants and coaches opportunities to demonstrate and perform skills. Facilitate communication with AGF and the Gymnastics for All community. Facilitate the election, for the Assembly Meeting and for the Committee. 3

8 GFAC Chairperson- works with the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator to ensure timelines, programming and events are reflective of the organization. Attend all GFAC meetings, assemblies, Gymnastics for All events, AGF AGM, and if required GCG AGM. To Chair all GFAC meetings with the assistance of the Gymnastics for All Program Coordinator. Present the Gymnastics for All Awards at the AGF Awards Banquet. Emcee Gymnastics for All events when required. Assist the AGF Gymnastics for All Program coordinator with developing Agendas for the Gymnastics for All Assembly and committee meetings. Prepare and present reports at the Assembly meetings, AGF Board of Directors meetings and AGF AGM. When required, participate in various AGF Board of Directors sub-committees. Attend and volunteer at all AGF Gymnastics for All Gymnastics events. To advise and assist the AGF Gymnastics for All Program Coordinator in providing leadership for the Gymnastics for All Gymnastics Program. To assist in the development of annual goals, objectives and implementing long range plans. To assist in the development of rules, practices and procedures with the GFAC and AGF. Inspire others by being a positive role model. Actively promote and advocate Gymnastics for All Gymnastics in the province of Alberta. To facilitate communication both internal and external (communicate regularly with AGF and GFAC). 2-year commitment. GFAC Coordinators: Attend all GFAC meetings, assemblies and events. Act as the GFAC representative at the AGF Board meetings should the chairperson be unable to attend. To advise and assist AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator in providing leadership for the Gymnastics for All Program. Assist in the development of annual goals, objectives and implementing long range plans. To assist in the development of rules, practices and procedures with the GFAC and AGF. To act as a lead on working groups identified within the deliverables to ensure the completions of projects in the identified timelines. Report and update the GFAC on the progress of working groups. Assist with presentations at AGF events, if required. Attend and volunteer at all AGF Gymnastics for All Gymnastics Events. Inspire others by being a positive role model. Actively promote and advocate Gymnastics for All in the province of Alberta. Communicate regularly with AGF and GFAC. 2 Year commitment. *It should be noted that, in the event that the chair or one of the Coordinators is unable to fulfill their volunteer commitments they are required to find a member-at- large to fill in. Member at Large: Members at large are those individuals interested in assisting in the development of Gymnastics for All and not given specific responsibilities but are tasked by the committee as needed. 4

9 Membership term: 2 years The chair and Gymnastics for All Coordinator may remove any members of the group who, at any time, fail to comply to the outlined terms of reference. In the event of a vacancy, the GFAC Chair and the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator will request a member at large to fill the vacated position for the remainder of the term Expectations of Individual Members: Each member will be expected to: Attend all scheduled meetings, review materials in advance, be punctual, actively participate in the meetings, contribute to on-going group work and notify the Gymnastics for All Coordinator of any absences. Contribute and participate on the correspondence and working documents in a timely manner (expected response is within 3 business days, exceptions for extenuating circumstances must be communicated to the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator) Represent the Gymnastics for All community Chair and committee members will be required to act as a Team Lead for each of the sub-working groups focused on the key GFAC deliverables: o Each sub- working group will consist of a minimum of one GFAC Chair and or Committee member(s) and members at large will be encouraged to provide assistance to the individual teams. o GFAC Chair and or Committee member(s) will work with their individual sub-working group to complete components and checklist items for the deliverables listed within the agreed upon timelines for completion (outlined in the following document) o GFAC Chair and or committee member(s) will be responsible for giving a report at each meeting/ conference call. Demonstrate a willingness to collaborate and contribute to initiatives and projects pursued by the GFAC Commit to be an advocate for the decisions and directions recommended by the GFAC and the AGF Board of Directors and demonstrate ongoing support to the community. Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with all members of the group. Work with the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator, GFAC Chair, GFAC Coordinators and the members at large to inform the membership of plans and initiatives. Additionally, each member must be familiar with: The most up to date version of the AGF GFA Handbook The most current version of the AGF strategic plan The current status and needs of the gymnastics community within Alberta The GCG and Sport Canada LTAD model Working Methods and Meetings The GFAC and members at large will meet primarily through teleconferencing but may be requested to meet in person. The GFAC will also be required to actively participate in communication Composition and Voting The GFAC will consist of one elected Chairperson, 4 elected Coordinators (all positions will be two-year terms) and one non-voting AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator. 5

10 Voting Privileges: Each elected member is entitled to one vote, with the Chairperson voting, only in the event that they are casting the deciding vote. Members-at-large receive one vote when requested to participate. Proxy votes shall not be permitted. Proxy voting is not permitted at meetings. Majority rules (50% + 1) will be followed on all voting issues. Eligibility Elected members and chairperson must be members in good standing of the AGF. CONFLICT OF INTEREST (General) A director or officer of the Society who is a party to a material contract or proposed material contract with the Society, or is a director or an officer of or has a material interest in any person who is a party to a material contract or proposed material contract with the Society shall disclose fully the nature and extent of his interest. No such director of the Society shall vote on any resolution to approve such contract. 11 4. Programs 4.1. Professional Development Funding This program was established to support and encourage Gymnastics for All coaches, through financial assistance, to attend non-agf educational opportunities Travel Funding Provides financial assistance to offset the cost of travel for Gymnastics for All athletes and coaches to travel. This funding is offered to assist in offsetting the cost of teams and their coaches travelling to Gymfest Mentorship This program was developed to promote and foster coaching and club excellence by providing less experienced Gymnastics for All Coordinators/ Supervisors/ Programmers the opportunity to learn from those with more experience. This program is a one-year program commencing in august for a period of one year. Individuals interested in participating in this program are chosen by the GFAC based on their application. Mentors are also required to apply or are requested to assist the GFAC in facilitating this program. Applications are available on our website and are to be submitted to the Gymnastics for All Coordinator by June 15 th Guest Clinician The guest clinician program was started to provide clubs the opportunity to apply for funding to offset the cost of a presenter to come tot heir club. The application form is available on the AGF website CanGym This program is a skill development program for Artistic Gymnastics, created by Gymnastics Canada. The program allows participants to progress step- by-step. Focussing on skill progressions and continuous learning through encouragement, positive feedback, and recognition awards. This program is currently under revisions CanJump This program is Alberta s skill development program for trampoline and tumbling. CanJump is designed to focus on the individual. This learn to program will allow participants to progress step-by-step on skill progressions and continuous learning. A newly revised version of this program will be available Fall. 5. Events 5.1 Gymfest Gymfest is an annual event hosted, traditionally, in Edmonton or Calgary. This event provides coaches and athletes the opportunity to participate in workshops and performance groups to demonstrate their skill in 7

12 a non-competitive arena. It provides a platform for athletes and coaches preparing for Canadian or World Gymnaestrada. 5.2 Fall Congress/ Rec Retreat Fall Congress/ Rec Retreat are educational opportunity for coaches and administrators. They provide a weekend of professional development and opportunity to meet coaches from other clubs across the province. Fall Congress and Rec Retreat occur in alternating years. 5.3 Workshops Educational opportunities that are offered throughout the year assist in professional development and retention of coaches. These courses are presented in conjunction with the AGF Education Coordinator and recommendations by the GFAC. 5.4 Western, Canadian & World Gymnaestrada Western, Canadian and World Gymnaestrada are events that provide opportunities for athletes and coaches to demonstrate their skill and talent on a non-competitive stage. The GFAC with the assistance of AGF provides financial assistance for teams to travel and train for these events. *Please note: All coaches wishing to attend Canadian or World Gymnaestrada must be level two certified in artistic, trampoline or rhythmic gymnastics. Please refer to the Gymnastics for All Handbook available on the AGF website. 6 Coaching 6.1.AGF Certification requirements (see also appendix B & C) Coaching Certification Club Certified NCCP Coach (National Coaching Certification Program) To be considered a certified Artistic Gymnastics Coach, coaches must have successfully completed all four components of the Gymnastics Foundations Artistic certification (Introduction, Theory, Artistic-sport specific and Evaluation) OR all three components of the (old) NCCP Level 1 program (Theory, Artistic Technical, and Practical). To be considered a certified Trampoline Gymnastics Coach, coaches must have successfully completed all four components of the Gymnastics Foundations Trampoline certification (Introduction, Theory, Trampoline-sport specific and Evaluation) OR all three components of the (old) NCCP Level 1 program (Theory, Trampoline Technical, and Practical). To be considered a certified Acrobatics Gymnastics Coach, coaches must have successfully completed all the necessary components to be considered a certified Artistic Gymnastics Coach or a certified Trampoline Gymnastics Coach. Coaches may start their NCCP Gymnastics Foundations training at age 15 (no pre-requisite required), however they may not apply for certification or Competition 1 (C1)/Level 2 training until 16 years of age. 8

13 6.1.2 Registered Gymnastics for All Coach Registered Gymnastics for All Active Start coaches must have a minimum of Gymnastics Foundations Introduction, Theory, and Active Start Gymnastics OR (old) NCCP training/certification to coach children 6 years of age and under. To coach children ages 6 years and under, coaches must be NCCP Active Start trained. At least one coach in the facility needs to be Active Start CERTIFIED when Preschool programming is occurring. For Gymnastics for All classes for children between 6 to 12 years of age, the instructor must be Artistic Gymnastics trained. Registered Gymnastics for All Artistic Gymnastics coaches must have a minimum of Foundations Introduction, Theory, and Artistic Gymnastics OR (old) NCCP Level 1 Gymnastics certification (theory, technical and practical). [If trampoline or double minitrampoline is used anywhere in the program, the Gymnastics Foundations Trampoline course or (old) NCCP Trampoline Technical is also required]. Artistic Gymnastics Trained coaches can lead classes for children 6 years and older. For classes with children 0-6 years, the coach must be Active Start Trained. Registered Gymnastics for All Trampoline coaches must have a minimum of Gymnastics Foundations Introduction, Theory, and Trampoline Gymnastics OR (old) NCCP Level 1 Trampoline certification (theory, technical and practical). Coaches may start their NCCP Gymnastics Foundations training at age 15 (no pre-requisite required), however they may not apply for certification or Competition 1 (C1)/Level 2 training until 16 years of age TRAINED Coaches versus CERTIFIED Coaches INTRO+THEORY+SPORT SPECIFIC (Artistic, Trampoline etc.)= TRAINED TRAINED coaches may independently coach their own group of athletes as long as there is a Certified coach in the gym at all times. Coaches are encouraged to only coach athletes at their present level of training or below. TRAINED coaches may proceed through the coaching pathway and are eligible to take Competition 1 (C1)/Level 2 courses in their specified discipline. INTRO +THEORY+SPORT SPECIFIC+ EVALUATION= CERTIFIED CERTIFIED coaches may independently coach their own group of athletes AND may supervise and mentor other coaches at or below their present certification level. Certified coaches that have mentorship or supervisory responsibilities should be a minimum of 18 years of age. ADDITIONAL TRAINING COMPONENTS APPLICABLE TO ALL COACHES All coaches must become Respect in Sport certified within 60 days from their date of employment. There will be no grand fathering of this course. Any coach not Respect in Sport certified within the time limit is subject to sanction by the AGF upon receipt of a complaint in accordance with the AGF Discipline Policy. 9

14 All coaches who are selected as a Team Coach for AGF must show proof of Respect in Sport certification prior to being approved as a Team Coach. A coach cannot act as a Team Coach without Respect in Sport certification. Any clubs with coaches other than coaches in training, found to be missing RIS Certification will be fined $25.00 per coach. If necessary, the invoice will be sent in February. Please ensure your club adheres to the policy mentioned above. After Respect in Sport certification is obtained, no re-certification is required. Visit: Making Ethical Decisions All coaches must complete the Make Ethical Decisions (MED) module and the MED Competition Introduction online evaluation available through the Coaching Association of Canada. ( Gymnastics Foundations Coaches must complete the module and online evaluation as part of their certification (the module is covered in the GF Theory course). Coaches need their Coaching Certification number (NCCP#) to access the online evaluation. If a coach does not have an NCCP#, contact AGF or the Coaching Association of Canada ( ). December 31, 2014 was the mandatory deadline for ALL coaches who were certified with the old NCCP Level 1 Theory (not Part A) to complete the MED module and/or. If they have not completed the MED requirements they will be reassigned Trained status and will only be restored to Certified once the MED COMPETITION INTRODUCTION evaluation is completed. All coaches are strongly urged to be certified in Standard First-Aid and CPR. All club coaches are strongly urged to undergo proper screening practices. Any clubs with concerns regarding certification of their coaches are encouraged to contact the AGF Education Program Coordinator or the President/CEO Registered Pre-Coach and Coaches in Training Pre-Coaches in Training Program (Pre-CIT) Coaches who are 13 and 14 years of age can enroll in the Gymnastics Canada Gymnastique Pre-CIT Program. If the individual is 13 years of age the program is 2 years in duration, 1 year if they are 14 years old. AGF encourages enrollment in this program, as it introduces aspiring coaches to the various aspects of coaching gymnastics. This is a club based program. It involves individual study, mentorship and hands-on coaching experience under the direct* supervision of a mentor coach. Mentor coaches must be a minimum of 18 years of age, certified Gymnastics Foundations or Level 1 coach, and have sound knowledge of the pre-school and Gymnastics for All programs in their club. Only coaches enrolled in the GCG Pre-CIT program can be registered members of Alberta Gymnastics. Those clubs using unapproved mentorship programs will not be able to utilize the 10

15 AGF membership program for those coaches. AGF strongly recommends that all clubs used the GCG Pre-CIT program when working with aspiring coaches years of age. To obtain the Pre- CIT Workbook and Mentor s Guide please contact the AGF Education Program Coordinator. *(Direct supervision means: Pre-CIT coaches cannot have sole responsibility for a group of athletes and must be supervised by working side by side with a CERTIFIED coach that is a minimum of 18 years of age). Coaches in Training Coaches IN TRAINING refers to coaches that have started taking some Gymnastics Foundations courses, but are not yet considered TRAINED. These coaches have only completed Gymnastics Introduction and/or Theory course(s). These coaches are referred to be IN TRAINING. Coaches IN TRAINING must be under the direct* supervision of a certified coach. *(Direct supervision means: Coaches with In Training status cannot have sole responsibility for a group of athletes and must be working side by side and supervised by a CERTIFIED coach that is a minimum of 18 years of age). Head Coach/Program Directors COMPETITIVE CLUBS In competitive clubs, the gymnastics Head Coach or the gymnastics Program Director must be CERTIFIED NCCP Level 2 Gymnastics (Theory, Technical and Practical) or Competition 1 (C1) (4-day course + Portfolio & Video Evaluation). Head Coaches or Program Directors of a trampoline/tumbling program must be certified NCCP Level 2 Trampoline (Theory, Technical and Practical). GYMNASTICS FOR ALL CLUBS In Gymnastics for All clubs the Head Coach or the gymnastics Program Director must be certified NCCP Level 1 gymnastics (Theory, Technical and Practical) OR Gymnastics Foundations certified (Intro, Theory, Artistic and Evaluation). If trampoline is offered the Head Coach or Program Director must be certified NCCP Level 1 trampoline (Theory, Technical and Practical) OR Gymnastics Foundations Certified (Intro, Theory, Trampoline, and Evaluation). All coaches must be trained in the areas that they are coaching. Therefore, all coaches using the trampoline must be trained to do so. At least one coach in the facility needs to be Trampoline CERTIFIED when the trampoline is being used. If Level 1 Trampoline/ Gymnastics Foundations trampoline is the highest certification in the gym only non-competitive trampoline skills can be taught and absolutely no inversions. IMPORTANT: Please refer to Appendix to review minimum requirements for NCCP coach training for CANGYM and JO levels. To coach children ages 6 years and under, coaches must be NCCP Active Start trained. At least one coach in the facility needs to be Active Start CERTIFIED when Preschool programming is occurring. 11

16 Gymnastics for All Coaches- Qualifications for Canadian and World Gymnaestrada Any Gymnastics for All coach participating in Canadian and World Gymnaestrada must be CERTIFIED Competition 1 or Level 2 certified in at least one discipline (men s/women s artistic, trampoline or rhythmic) to have access to training and performance gyms. 6.2.Guidelines and Procedures Coaching Code of Ethics It is the responsibility of AGF members to review. Copies may be obtained through the clubs or by contacting the AGF office Fun Meet Guidelines A copy of the fun meet guidelines is available on the AGF website. These are suggestion outlined by the GFAC and approved by the AGF Board of Directors to simplify and standardize the hosting of noncompetitive events in the province Inclusion Guidelines This document is being developed to provide pertinent information in the integration and inclusion of special and adaptive needs participants and programs regarding medical considerations, coaching considerations and facility considerations. It acts as a guideline to assist clubs interested in facilitating physical literacy to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This document Is available on our website Gymnastics for All Handbook This document was developed in conjunction with Gymnastics Canada and provides an overview of Gymnastics for All events both provincially and nationally. It provides information regarding provincial gymnaestradas, details pertaining to Canadian and World Gymnaestrada, and FIG Challenge. 7. Recognition and Awards 7.1.Cangym Gold Badge Gymnastics for All athletes who earn a Gold Badge in the CanGym program receive a gold medal and a letter of recognition for their accomplishment from the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator. Gold badge recipients can be submitted, at any time, to the AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator. These athletes are also invited to the AGF Awards Banquet where they receive recognition and a plaque. 7.2.Gymnastics for All Awards These awards were developed to recognize and acknowledge excellence in Gymnastics for All gymnastics in coaching, athleticism (individual and group) and volunteerism. 12

17 The candidates for these awards are submitted by their peers within the Gymnastics for All community. There is currently no limit on the number of recipients for each category. GFA Achievement Awards are presented at the AGF Awards Banquet. 7.3.Scott Whiteside Award The award was developed as a legacy and tribute to the namesake of this award. It was established to honor individuals with tireless enthusiasm for the sport of gymnastics and their commitment to the sport as an active member and volunteer in various areas within the AGF family. The recipient is nominated and meets the requirements of the nomination form. The Awards committee and the GFAC review the criteria and determine based on an established points system who will be the recipient. This award is limited to one recipient per year and is presented to the person at the AGF Awards banquet. 13

18 Appendix A Nominations Nominations will NOT be accepted from the floor at the time of the AGM. However, if there are sufficient nominees received prior to the deadline and an election is not required, the nominees will be acclaimed. If there are more nominees than positions, an election will occur. If sufficient nominees are not received prior to the deadline, a vote will be held for the vacant positions remaining, provided that two-thirds (2/3) of the eligible votes cast at the AGM agree. * E.g. 4 positions are available, 3 nominations received by stated deadline (acclaimed), leaves one position open for election. If requested the motion will be worded as follows Motion: To open nominations for the positions of AGF GFAC Chair/ Committee from the floor Elections For the position(s) of the AGF GFAC Chair/ Committee Ask for the Nominations (if needed) Motion: To close nominations for the position of AGF GFAC Chair/ Committee The GFA Coordinator or GFAC chair will read the list of nominees. Each nominee will be given the opportunity to speak for up to three (3) minutes. No more than one other individual may speak for the nominee for up to a maximum of two (2) minutes. Once the nominees have had the opportunity to speak the election will begin. At the beginning of the GFA Assembly each club will be allotted a ballot. AGF BYLAW Votes at meetings of members shall be given personally. Every question submitted to any of meeting of members shall be decided by a show of hands except when a ballot is required by the chairman of the meeting or is demanded by a voting delegate, as determined in accordance with 6.9. A delegate may demand a ballot either before or on the declaration of the results of any vote by show of hands. At every meeting at which he/she is entitled to vote, every voting delegate, other than the chairman of the meeting, present in person shall carry the number of votes according to section The chairman of the meeting shall not have the right to vote, unless there is an equality of votes, in which case the chairman will have the casting vote. (If needed) Motion: To conduct the entire AGF election procedures using a closed ballot. The GFAC Chair or AGF Gymnastics for All Coordinator will read the results. 21 Pre-Coach-in-Training (Pre-CIT) = a year old who is not yet eligible to start NCCP Gymnastics Foundations (GF) training APPENDIX B Coach-in-Training (CIT) = someone who has started their NCCP GF training Trained = a coach who has completed the three GF training courses (intro, theory & discipline specific) Certified = a coach who has completed the three GF courses + GF evaluation, OR the technical, theory and practical components for Level 2 or 3 If your club is offering a gymnastics sport, you need to have at least one CERTIFIED coach in that sport in the gym during the programming of that class. For example: Active Start Class (participants 0-5), Active Start certified coach must be in the gym. The coach leading the class must be a minimum of Active Start TRAINED. If Trampoline is used in any capacity, a coach must be a minimum of GF Trampoline Trained and a CERTIFIED coach must be in the gym indirectly supervising. If your coaches do not have trampoline training they are not allowed to use any trampoline surface. 23 Appendix D Refund and Late Registration Policy This policy applies to all refunds for any registrations with Alberta Gymnastics Federation. The principle behind the Alberta Gymnastics Federation Refund and Late Registration Policy is to allow a reasonable period of time following registration for withdrawal by athletes/parents, while still safeguarding the long-term financial stability of the organization. Late Registration Fee All late registrations will be charged a $35.00 administration fee Administration Fee All refunds will have a $25.00 administration fee applied Medical Refund Exceptions Full Registration Fee refund will be provided for medical reasons upon Program Coordinator approving the request as a legitimate refund request. Note: The Program Coordinator may, upon their discretion, request additional information up to and including a medical note from a physician. Program Coordinator decision is final decision for medical refund request.
