17 Center of gravity lifter Center of gravity barbel Qualitative biomechanical models of Olympic exercises The pre-motor or cognitive reaction time, the moment in which no muscular action takes place but the body prepares a response on a cognitive level; The reaction times, in other words the temporal space between the moment of certain identification of the stimulus and the start of the response; The motor reaction time, often measured by an EMG, indicates the start of neuromuscular activity even if not yet correlated to the movement; electromechanical delay; The movement time, intended as the temporal interval between the start and the end of a movement; The total time, which represents the sum of points 2, 3 and 4.

Art The art of coaching comes when the coach has to: Analyse the scientific data Convert it into Coaching and training programs to help develop the athlete This analysis process relies heavily on the coach's experience and knowledge of the event/sport and the athlete concerned 28

29 The coach needs to be able to: Assist athletes to prepare training programs Communicate effectively with athletes Assist athletes to develop new skills Use evaluation tests to monitor training progress and predict performance. Therefore, you can see that it is a very difficult task and requires a very special person 29

37 Coach Development Coach development must have a clear documented pathway for coaches wishing to progress to the elite level Appoint appropriate coaches for rural, city and provincial areas and supply support and training if required There must be close working relationship between the Performance coach, key coaches and the service providers Targeted potential performance coaches are identified and receive mentoring and performance reviews Coaches in performance have regular performance reviews and have an individualised and structured development plan
