Heart of the Ocean Massage An exclusive THALGO signature massage 15 min Enter the marine world of THALGO and discover its new facial massage technique. Iconic: This exclusive method, inspired by the hypnotic movements of waves, is the signature massage for the Heart of the Ocean Ritual. Unique: Your clientele will be delighted by this exceptional moment of relaxation. An extraordinary, generous and enveloping massage that eases the body and soothes the mind with its movements on the face, right down to the arms for an original and sensorial approach. Effective: The method consists of: 1 Working away tension in the nape of the neck, the trapezius muscles and the upper back and loosening the shoulders to allow for more balanced breathing. 2 Relaxing the facial features and draining toxins for a bright, radiant face at the end of the treatment. POINTS TO REMEMBER >> The Heart of the Ocean Massage offers intense relaxation during the Heart of the Ocean Ritual, while the Concentrate adapted to the skin type (e.g., the Absolute Hydra-Marine Concentrate in the hydrating range) makes it possible to carry out specific movements devoted to correcting each skin type. 3
Step 1. Massage of the décolleté, arms and trapezius muscles 1 Application of the Oligo-Marine Massage Cream > Apply a hazelnut-sized drop of cream to one side of the body: arms, one half of the décolleté and the nape of the neck FOCUS on the Oligo-Marine Massage Cream Formula for professional use only designed for use in all versions of the Heart of the Ocean Ritual. A generous cream, rich in botanical oils, that offers exquisite repairing properties for the skin. Texture specially designed to offer a gentle enveloping sensation during the massage. 4
2 Relaxing, smoothing movement > Symmetrically smooth the upper back and décolleté. >> 3 times back and forth First side 3 Relaxation of trapezius muscle A > Starting from behind the shoulder, smooth the trapezius muscle, working downwards toward the spinal column. Then, work back up with a smoothing movement over the same area, applying more pressure. >> 3 times 4 Relaxation of trapezius muscle B > Make the same movements, but this time with alternating upward smoothing motions. 5 Relaxation of trapezius muscle C > Perform the same movement again, but this time with relaxing upward waves. > Finish by encompassing the shoulder with both hands, then work down to the elbow. 6 Smoothing stretch of arms and nape of neck > Simultaneously, one hand makes a smoothing motion down the client s arm to her hand while the other hand makes a smoothing motion toward the nape of her neck. > Using both hands at the same time, work back down toward the elbow and start the movement again. >> 3 times > Repeat the same movement, using your middle finger to focus on the area, but end on the mastoid. 5
7 Back smoothing movement > Gently place the client s arm on her stomach. Without breaking contact, move to the other side of the massage table. > Grasp her wrist and shoulder to turn her toward you. > Perform slow, deep alternating smoothing movements perpendicular to the spinal column on the upper back and sides of the body. Second side Apply Oligo Marine Massage Cream on the other side of of the body: arms, one half of the décolleté and the nape of the neck Relaxation of trapezius muscles A, B, C Smoothing stretch of arms and nape of neck Back smoothing movement step 2. Face massage 1 Alternating smoothing movements > Apply Oligo Marine Massage Cream to the face. With light and slow alternating smoothing movements, smooth one side of the face and then the other. Start at the décolleté, then move on to the neck and facial contour, ending with the forehead. Repeat the movement on the other side of the face, starting at the décolleté. 6
2 Crossed smoothing movements > With the fingers of both hands lightly crossed, smooth the forehead area. Repeat this same movement while working gradually down toward the shoulders. 3 Enveloping smoothing movements > Finish the movement by enveloping the shoulders with your hands. Then glide hands toward the nape of the neck and conclude the movement by tilting your client s head to one side. First side 4 Wave on the décolleté > By imitating the to-and-fro movement of waves, perform an enveloping smoothing movement while applying pressure to one side of the décolleté, starting from the facial contour and working toward the shoulder. Work back up behind the shoulder toward the nape of the neck. >> 3 times 5 Wave on the facial contour > Glide fingers along the client s facial contour toward the fingers the center of the face. Finish the movement with a return motion, still on the facial contour but applying pressure with fingers and working up toward the earlobe. 6 Wave on the eye contour > Carry out a rotating smoothing movement around the eyes. Apply stronger pressure when moving toward the exterior of the face and work more lightly when moving upward toward the center of the face. 3 times. Finish by smoothing the forehead. Second side 7 Wave > Gently tilt the head to the other side and repeat the same trio of wave movements on the other part of the face. 8 Repositioning and finale > Reposition the face in the axis of the spinal column and place cupped hands over the ears for a few seconds to create a closed space of calm around the client. > Gently and slowly remove your hands. > This completes the massage. 7
