4 Today s Purpose To learn a founda?on of teaching exercise to individuals with au?sm that can be incorporated in physical educa?on, a community se\ng or an individual s daily rou?ne. 5 A physical ac?vity based program is easy to implement and has been shown to be effec?ve in controlling many types of inappropriate behaviors associated with au?sm. Source: Allison et al. 6 A rela:onship exists between motor skill development, language development, social interac:ons and academic performance. Physical movement interven:ons would have the greatest effect when u:lized during academic or therapy sessions versus directly before.
