1 2010 Annual Grants Report Released: January 28 th, 2011 The Mead Family Foundation is proud to report on its grants from Grants went primarily to organizations working in K-12 academic education, arts education, strengthening and crisis prevention. Other funding areas include capacity building for emerging non-profits, programs supporting low-income women in developing countries, and grants to encourage partnership and collaboration in the non-profit community. Through good economic cycles and bad, the Foundation has supported the leadership and programs of hundreds of area non-profits. This year has been no exception. The Foundation helped nonprofits meet on-going challenges by increasing its funding resources. By the end of 2010, the Foundation extended over $700,000 dollars in grants to 50 non-profit organizations in the D.C. metro area, Maryland and Florida. In 2011, the Mead Family Foundation has a renewed commitment to empowering to have crisis-free lives, strong and excellent education.
