4 FOOD INSECURITY IN OREGON: WHAT DOES THE DATA TELL US? 2013 Data shows that 15.8% of Oregon is food insecure 66% of individuals age 60 and older who are eligible for SNAP benefits are not receiving them 50% of Oregon children qualify for free or reduced lunch

18 PARTNERING WITH OREGON FOOD BANK TO DELIVER COOKING MATTERS Cooking Matters helps us work with our clients to: teach skills involved in making healthy eating choices work on shopping healthy on a budget practice making recipes from scratch offer people a healthy environment to try new ways of eating and being around people socially who are also trying to make changes for themselves

19 BRYAN S STORY At first I couldn t even cook an egg, but the class helped me learn how I can eat nutritiously and cost efficiently. If you know how to cook you can actually make food go a long ways.
