8 Detection of anti-sperm antibodies With SpermMar Iga & IgG To screen for immunological infertility, it is sufficient to search for IgG antibodies on spermatozoa. If more than 40% of motile spermatozoa present anti-sperm antibodies of the IgG class, complementary testing for IgA antibodies is advisable. Assessment of sperm morphology With Spermac Stain The Spermac Stain method is simple and perfectly adequate for the detailed investigation of morphology of all parts of the spermatozoa. Quantifying live spermatozoa With VitalScreen The test uses the eosin-nigrosin staining technique to establish the percentage of live spermatozoa. Hypo-osmotic swelling test Sperm vitality test The test is based on the semi-permeability of the intact cell membrane, which causes spermatozoa to swell under hypo-osmotic conditions, when an influx of water results in an expansion of the cell volume. It should not be used as a sperm function test but as an optional/itional vitality test, providing itional information on the integrity and compliance of the cell membrane of the sperm tail. 9 Determination of the DNA fragmentation HaloSperm determines DNA fragmentation in sperm cells. Halosperm is fast, easy to use, highly reproducible and requires only the use of a bright field microscope. This itional parameter of semen quality allows clinicians to (1) distinguish which couples are suitable for IUI, (2) assess the quality of semen samples or donors for suitability, (3) assess the efficacy of medical interventions or treatment of infectious diseases, (4) provide answers to cases of unexplained infertility, ART failure or repeated abortions. HaloSperm G2 will give the same results as the HaloSperm kit but instead requires just a few drops of Halosperm G2. It is easier to use and the big advantage is a notable reduction of the smell derived from the Lysis solution. Halosperm G2 also includes a staining kit for bright field microscopy. Dyn-HaloSperm determines DNA fragmentation in sperm cells just like the Halosperm test and it allows the study of sperm DNA fragmentation over time. 11 High security sperm straws The high security sperm straw is a 100% hermetically sealable straw made of an ionomeric resin. The straws are CE marked and come with a white cotton-powder-cotton plug. The filling tip is supplied separately. The 0,5 ml high security sperm straw has a colored plug at the end and a working volume is 0,5 ml. The 0,3 ml high security sperm straw has two compartments: a working volume is 0,3 ml and a second compartment for an internal colored ID stick. The ID stick can be labled with the patient name or donor ID.
