8 BREATHSCAN ALCOHOL DETECTOR Breathscan is a disposable breath alcohol detector designed for 1 time use. Pass/ fail at two different levels Easy to use; blow directly into the test Lowest detection level of any breath test The breathscan alcohol test is the simplest to use of the disposable breath alcohol tests. The user crushes the test between the fingers, then blows into the test for 12 sec. Readings are made in 2 minutes by noting the presence of a color change from yellow to aqua (blueish green). The detector comes in 3 different levels of detection,.02,.04, and.08. We recommend the.02 level to agencies testing for zero tolerance programs. The.02 level is the lowest level of detection of any disposable alcohol test. The.04 level is popular for employee testing and other situations where a higher threshold level is used. Different states have different allowable limits. Therefore, we offer testers that match the different levels. The accuracy of this chemical reaction has been scientifically documented, and is the type of reaction which is utilized in legally substantiated test devices used by law enforcement agencies. The crystals in the ampule are unaffected by heat and cold and the shelf life is unlimited. Each tester is good until the glass ampule inside is broken. The Alco-Screen 2 is also one of very few devices specifically designed to detect the presence of alcohol at very low levels. Any agency with a zero tolerance policy for alcohol will want to consider using this device as part of their testing program. Using the Alco-Screen 2 is simplicity itself. The user saturates the reactive pad on the end of the strip with saliva by placing it in their mouth for ten seconds.
