FIRST AID MEASURES Inhalation Skin contact Eye contact If inhaled, remove from exposure and have patient lie down and keep quiet. If patient is not breathing, start artificial respiration immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician if necessary. If spilt on the skin, remove contaminated clothing and wash affected areas of skin immediately. If concentrate is splashed in eyes, flush with running water for at least 15 minutes. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES Fire/Explosion Hazard Not a fire and explosion hazard. There is a possibility of generating hazardous gases during a fire due to presence of F and CN groups, but material will not burn vigorously. The material poses no explosion hazard in granular form. Never return to container for reuse. (See section 13 for disposal instructions.) 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Storage Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid inhaling the vapour, or spray mist. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wash clothing after use. Store in the closed, original container in a dry, well ventilated area, as cool as possible out of direct sunlight and under lock and key. Keep from contact with fertilisers, fungicides and seeds. Do not store with Classes 1,2,3.2,4 or 5 substances. Stores containing more than 100kg of this product, either alone or in aggregate with other hazardous substances are subject to requirement of an emergency management response plan, secondary containment and signage. 8. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY Stability Incompatibility Decomposition Polymerisation Stable at normal temperatures and storage conditions. No incompatibilities reasonably foreseeable. Decomposition will not occur. Polymerisation will not occur. 11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION Acute Effects Eye Skin Inhaled Swallowed Chronic Effects Flusilazole: WARNING! Causes substantial but temporary eye injury. Low toxicity through this route. Not a skin irritant or a skin sensitiser. May irritate the throat. Low toxicity through this route. None established for formulated product. In a two year feeding in rats the no-observable-effect level (NOEL) was 10 ppm (approx. 0.5 mg/kg/day) based on increased relative liver weights and hepatocellular hypertrophy at the higher doses in females. In an 18-month mouse feeding study, the NOEL was 25 ppm (approx. 4.0 mg/kg/day) based on increased liver weights and accumulation of fat in the livers of mice at the higher dose. In a one year feeding study in dogs, the NOEL was 5 ppm (approx. 0.2 mg/kg/day) based on reversible liver effects (increased liver weights and enlarged certrilobular hepatecytes at higher doses. Flusilazole was administered via the diet or oral intubation to pregnant rats and rabbits. When administered to rats via oral intubation, the a.i. was weakly teratogenic. An increased incidence of cleft palate was observed at the high dose, 250mg/kg/day; it was not observed at 100mg/kg, the NOEL for teratogenicity. This effect was only produced in rats and only at a dose 25 times higher than that which caused maternal toxicity (10mg/kg). Cleft palate was not produced in either species via the dietary route of administration. 5 Toxicity Data Flusilazole: administration. With exception of the dietary study in rabbits, these effects only occurred in the presence of maternal toxicity. The lowest overall NOEL for embryo-fetal toxicity is 2mg/kg/day. Based on results from studies in the rat, the more sensitive species, protection against maternal toxicity will provide adequate protection against potential embryo-fetal toxicity and teratogenicity. Not mutagenic in five assays, which include gene mutation assays in bacteria and mammalian cells; DNA damage/repair assay in liver cells; mouse micronucleus assay; and a test which evaluates chromosomes aberrations in rat bone marrow cells. There were no effects on fertility in a two generation study in rats. The NOEL was 50 ppm based on lower body weights and toxicity to the offspring at the high dose. TRANSPORT INFORMATION Triple rinse container and add rinsate to spray tank, burn, if circumstances, especially wind direction permit, otherwise dispose of at an approved landfill. Dispose of this product only by using in accordance with label directions. Dispose of solid contaminated material/or contaminated soil in an approved landfill.
