2 Anxiety is rising in society as the world becomes more complex. Result - Increase in extreme behaviors in young children There is a decrease in physicians & professional counselors willing to assess and treat children under 6 years of age. Result - Many early education professionals feel helpless in regards to maintaining classroom control. Theories to Discuss

3 Polling the Issues How many of you are seeing an increase in extreme behaviors in young children? How many of you are seeing a decrease in physicians and professional counselors willing to assess young children? How many of you are having a difficulty with classroom control as a result of an increase in extreme behaviors in young children?

8 Group care can be difficult for an extremely anxious child. As uncontrollable emotions flood in, an extremely anxious child can display the entire spectrum within a short time.
