5 State-of-the-art crack detection Wall thickness inspection with the best possible accuracy Pipeline cracks occur in the body of the pipe, the heat affected zone or the weld. Typical cracks are fatigue cracks, stress corrosion cracks or hook cracks. Crack inspection also includes detection of laminations that can impair the integrity of the pipe. The remaining wall thickness of a pipeline must be investigated to determine its safe operating pressure thresholds. NDT Global offers a full range of inspection tools with ultrasonic and magnetic flux leakage technology. NDT Global operates a fleet of ultrasonic tools for crack inspection. Our Evo Series UC 1.0 and LineExplorer UC tools are available in sizes from 6" to 48". Special configurations are available for axial and circumferential crack inspection as well as for combined metal loss and crack inspection.
