The primary goals of this project are to determine whether active elbow extension decreases mechanical loading at the shoulder and to identify rehabilitative interventions that minimize the risk for shoulder pain during weight-relief lift in individuals with C5/C6 quadriplegia. Kautz, Ph.D. Intermuscular Coordination of Hemiparetic Walking The goal of this project is to investigate how impaired muscle force production limits walking speed in hemiparetic patients, with the goal to design effective rehabilitation interventions.
