What does an orthopedist do? An orthopedist treats chronic diseases, congenital disorders and acute injuries of people s musculoskeletal system.

6 What does an orthopedist do? An orthopedist treats chronic diseases, congenital disorders and acute injuries of people s musculoskeletal system. The musculoskeletal system includes joints, bones, muscles and tendons, nerves, vessels, as well as ligaments and bursa. They are all part of a complex system and play an important role. If they don't "work together" in the best way possible, complaints such as pain or restricted mobility may arise.

8 Sports medicine As a sports orthopedist, I treat the same conditions as a classic orthopedist. However, the main focus is on the treatment of sports injuries or disorders that are the result of great or inapt sports-related strain. Prevention and training advice is also part of my work. 8

The term electrotherapy (electrical stimulation) is used to describe the medical application of electric current generated by a special electrotherapy device and supplied to the patient via electrodes. During electrotherapy, one or more body parts are treated with various forms of current.

They are used for the conservative treatment of orthopedic problems and injuries in the musculoskeletal system, joint deformities and instabilities. Such aids include prostheses and orthoses. In addition, orthopedic technicians make special bandages and corsets, as well as rehabilitation technology products such as seat shells or individual wheelchairs. They advise their customers on the right choice of equipment, carry our assessments, measure the affected body parts, and create design drawings and models. They also repair, maintain and adjust the aids and provide instructions on their operation or handling.

Strongly diluted products that are produced in a similar way to homeopathic remedies (see Schüssler salts, Bach flower remedies) are therefore not NEMs. 19
