7 What To Expect and FAQ s Does insurance cover inpatient rehabilitation treatment? Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and a many other insurance providers. The Admission Care Coordinators work with patients and families to assist in understanding the insurance benefits available and help locate alternative funding if necessary. What does a typical day of inpatient rehabilitation consist of? A daily schedule is posted at the bedside outlining your activities. The schedule lists therapies, medical appointments, group activities, recreational activities, and open times. A typical day begins around 7 a.m. when you wake up, get dressed, and meet with doctors during morning rounds. During non-therapy times, you may practice skills learned in therapy, participate in recreational activities, or socialize in one of the many community spaces. What should you bring during your stay? At least 3 changes of comfortable daytime clothing. Gym shoes or rubber solved shoes are necessary. You should bring pajamas, underwear, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, shampoo, and any cosmetics you prefer to use. A sweater or coat for activities outside is also important. Also, bring any special adaptive equipment that you are currently using. How will I get dressed and ready for therapy? The treatment team will provide assistance to/from therapies; as needed. The goal is to teach you how to perform activities of daily living safely on your own; with or without assistance. Can my family and support system be involved in my rehabilitation? Absolutely! Recovery from injuries affects patients and the family/support system. We recognize this support is an integral part of the recovery process. We encourage active involvement every step of the way and we will provide the necessary education needed.

12 Armeo Spring The ArmeoSpring uses virtual reality activities such as watering flowers, grocery shopping, and target shooting to increase strength and coordination that will improve overall upper extremity function following injury.

16 Pool Therapy Warm water exercises decrease the amount of stress on your joints; which decreases pain and stiffness. The water offers resistance in every direction, and is effective in improving strength, endurance and joint mobility

19 Kitchen Guided by Occupational Therapists, patients cook and bake in our full in-unit kitchen. They prepare to go home by practicing functional tasks they may be required to perform such as preparing food, using a stove, and loading and unloading a dishwasher.

20 Support Groups Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute provides monthly support groups for persons and families affected by Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Injury and Amputation. Support groups are an important component to the recovery process and we re excited that attendance continues to be strong. We are blessed to be able to provide this life-long service for the patients and families we serve.
