9 Road to Addiction Negative Schema Experimentation with drugs and behaviors Huge rush of Dopamine Anadonia is overwhelmed Feels wonderful, perhaps for the first time. Therefore does it again and again. Addiction is a really bad, hard-to-break, habit
10 Tolerance. Withdrawal. Difficulty controlling use. Desire to cut down. Neglecting or postponing activities. Spending significant time or emotional energy. Continuing use despite negative consequences. 10

12 After experiencing some degree of recovery from active addiction, it is safe to say that no one in their right mind would ever return to their active addiction. However relapse happens all the time! So then, which mind might one be in?
13 Any Negative Mood State can initiate a Craving Reaction HALT Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired RIID Restless, Irritable, Isolated, Discontent BAAD Bored, Anxious, Angry, Depressed
14 3 Types of Trauma Immediate, singular, violent=ptsd (war, rape, disaster, etc.) Repeated Abuse (Bullying, humiliation, shaming, etc.) Continuous re-establishing of Negative Beliefs
15 Perception of Reality Energetic Model Womb to age 6 years old Imaginative state of perception -Theta World view interpretation loosely held Ages 7-9 central nervous system and perceptual lens become hard-wired. Energetic Belief System is created.
16 Cellular Expectation Information is passed through the human reproductive system carrying mammalian, energy-information embeds in the first, single human cell this most powerful belief: I am going to be loved, cared for, cherished and protected unconditionally. The necessary condition for all the brain circuits discussed above is access to a consistently available, emotionally stable, non-stressed nurturing parental care giver. Gabor Mate, MD
17 I expect to be loved unconditionally. I am not getting what I expect. There is no one/nothing to blame. Therefore there must be something wrong with me. (Schema)
18 Three Aspects of Mind 1. Conscious 2. Sub conscious (one million x s plus) 3. Unconscious (sub-set of #2)
19 Cellular Expectation To the degree this hugely-powerful expectation is not met, the individual reacts with a certain biochemical response that defines itself in the body/mind as STRESS
20 Positive Affirmations Tell yourself to think good thoughts continuously. This is the power of positive thinking. Does not work for trauma victims. Pain of trauma buried in the unconscious mind. Subconscious mind one million x s greater than the conscious mind.
21 Perception of Reality Our perception of reality is based upon the amalgamation of all our beliefs whether we are conscious of them or not. These beliefs create the aforementioned lens. Change a belief, the lens changes. And so does our reality!
22 Everything is Energy Energy and Intelligence are Synonymous On the material plane, all energy intelligence exists at different vibrations. There is no separation of this energy; everything is connected! These differences of vibration define things and provide uniqueness.

31 Core Negative Belief It s the same in all of us (to one degree or another) We come to believe there is something wrong with us. Each one of us expresses it differently by what is known as a schema.
32 Schemas No matter how hard I try, I can t get it right. Every time something good happens, something bad is sure to follow. Whenever I make myself vulnerable, I get hurt I am unlovable. I am a failure. I m ugly and my mother dressed me funny as a child.

If one is able to remain conscious during most of the waking hours, there need be no concern about returning to addictive behavior.
