1 Cloninger Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire TPQ Cloninger.... Mini-Mental State Examination MMSE Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire TPQ : U=., p<. : U=., p<. dopamine norepinephrine TPQ This study sought to evaluate the personality traits of aged patients with dementia by applying Cloninger s tridimensional personality theory. Using Mini-Mental State Examination MMSE and Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire TPQ, aged patients with mild cognitive impairment MCI and aged patients with Alzheimer s disease AD were individually tested for cognitive function. Findings show a decrease in general cognitive function of AD patients in comparison with MCI patients. In addition, the study shows a decline in personality traits such as novelty-seeking and reward-dependence behaviours. The results may indicate that decreased secretion of dopamine and norepinephrine is more remarkable among AD patients compared to MCI patients. Key words : Mild Cognitive Impairment, Alzheimer s Disease, Tridimensional personality theory, Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire Cloninger Tridimensional Personality TDP monoamine dopamine Novelty Seeking NS serotonin
