5 The eukemia & ymphoma Society announces two new research programs. Screen To ead Program will support academic drug discovery directed towards medicinal chemistry and /or drug targeted screening in hematological malignancies. The New Idea Award will support academic researchers with innovative therapy concepts that are substantially different than current standard treatments with the possibility of clinical testing in the short-term. It will also support initial exploration of untested but potentially transformative research ideas and treatment approaches. We are enthusiastically moving forward with these awards and hope you will look into the eligibility guidelines and application instructions in the Science Professional section of our website at Salt ake City, Utah: The Intermountain Center for Hematological Malignancies seeks BC/BE attending physician candidates for our blood and marrow transplantation and acute leukemia therapy program. The candidate will join an experienced and dedicated multidisciplinary FACT accredited and FDA registered program, offering allogeneic (related and unrelated) and autologous SCT. Many patients are registered on institutional, SWOG and consortium investigational protocols. The Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant Program s referral base consists of the Intermountain West area (Utah and surrounding states) and performs approximately 80 SCT s yearly. The Acute eukemia Program receives newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients who are candidates for intensive induction. The program currently employs 6 experienced transplant/leukemia Hem/Onc physicians and 10 midlevel providers as well as an extensive and excellent dedicated nursing and ancillary staff. Web: NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Program Division of Hematology/Oncology Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Robert H. urie Comprehensive Cancer Center The Division of Hematology/Oncology at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine seeks faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor on the clinician track for the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Program. The Stem Cell Transplant Program performs 250 autologous and allogeneic procedures per year primarily for adults with hematologic malignancies. The program is seeking a clinical researcher addressing key issues in transplantation including novel preparative regimens, graft manipulation, new forms of graft versus host disease prophylaxis and long term outcome and survivorship issues after transplant. A fully operational GMP facility is available for advanced cell manipulation. The HSCT program is an integral part of the hematological malignancy program of the Division of Hematology and Oncology and the Robert H. urie Comprehensive Cancer Center with strong extramurally funded research programs in myeloma, lymphoma, leukemia, MDS and myeloproliferative neoplasms. This is a full-time faculty position. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. Qualifications include board certification in Hematology, Oncology or both and specialized experience in HSCT. Clinical researchers will devote a significant portion of their time to protocol development and prospective clinical research.
