1 Health Smart Virginia - Sample Lesson Plan Grade 10 ATOD Use Prevention Unit 6 SOLs: 10.1.g Research trends in teen use/abuse of alcohol, tobacco, other drugs their impact on the community h Evaluate the causal relationship between tobacco, alcohol, inhalant, other drug use. chronic disease h Design an action plan to reduce risk-taking acts of violence, substance use, gang involvement Title: Vicious Vapes Objectives/ Goals: Students will be able to compare contrast the medical facts from the the misinformation presented in the media Students will be able to analyze the reasons why there is so much misinformation in the media Students will be able to choose one of the vaping projects to create a health message about the susceptibility to injury /or illness adapt the message for high school students. 2 Procedure: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Present the Vicious Vapes Presentation. Have students take notes on the harmful effects of vaping Show the video of Katherine Heigl Vaping on David Letterman.
