2 Interdisciplinary Committee The Interdisciplinary Committee represents the interests of the multiple disciplines who provide treatment to tobacco users nationally and internationally, ensuring members are treated with respect, regardless of treatment specialty. We align with ATTUD s overall strategic goals and collaborate in website improvement, interdisciplinary webinar offerings, and investigate opportunities for growth in publications. 3 Training Issues Committee This committee shall explore and investigate issues related to the improvement of training and continuing education of tobacco cessation treatment providers. Emphasis shall be placed on (a) identifying standards of practice for Tobacco Treatment Specialists; (b) ongoing communication with the membership in order to identify key training issues; and (c) developing activities that serve the training needs of the membership. 4 Treasurer 2014 Annual Report Income $35, % from membership fees (n=370 members) Expenses $33,058 including several new expenses Constant Contact ($54/month) Liability insurance ($1,404) Legal fees ($693) Member access to Journal of Smoking Cessation ($5,000) $66,003 in reserve Goal is to achieve an income of $45,000 (~500 members) Financial goals for 2015 New website (~$10,000 from reserve) Support CTTTP program management ($500/month) International Committee This committee shall represent the large numbers of tobacco treatment providers outside of the United States, and to ensure the interest of non-us members are represented to the Board of Directors and in the corporation s activities. This committee s goal is to work in collaboration with international tobacco treatment providers outside of the United States to build relationships, exchange information and influence the development of international policies and training resources in the treatment of tobacco dependence. 5 Study the needs of international members using an online survey that was conducted Mid 2014 Currently in process of developing material for promoting ATTUD during the WCTOH, Abu Dhabi 2015 Sharing in the provision of guidance and support for international Global Bridges grantees Communications Committee This committee is responsible for formulating and preparing the program for conferences sponsored by ATTUD. Please send ideas/offers to help to Facilitate communication about the listserv hip Committee This Committee is responsible for recruiting full and associate members, the establishment of the appropriate criteria for membership, overseeing the processing of applications for admission to membership, and passing upon the qualifications of applicants. The membership committee is also responsible for reviewing allegations of unethical conduct of members or conduct that contravenes the stated goals of ATTUD, and, if necessary, for administering the provisions for revocation of membership specified in the by-laws. The committee also recommends new policy initiatives and has a written process for how policy actions are determined by ATTUD. 10 PayPal capacity established for ATTUD transactions Established procedure for member-directed donations Future goals are to seek grants for funding special high-priority ATTUD projects Disparate Populations Committee This Committee s goal is to strengthen collaborative relationships among tobacco dependence, mental health, and addiction treatment stakeholders in order to influence the development of agency, state and national policies and resources that promote the treatment of tobacco use and dependence among persons with mental illness and substance use disorders or behavioral health. In addition, the Committee has identified other populations with higher smoking prevalence, such as: corrections, military and veterans, and disabled to create or coordinate enhanced interventions and policy to reduce their disparities regarding tobacco use.
