Revolutionize your health, a wellness kick-off program for Cigna members Join the Resolution Revolution and improve your health in just six weeks. The program will run from February 1 March 11, 2016.
It s a six-week, point-based program designed to help you make better choices and improve your health by doing the following every day: Eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables Exercising for at least 15 minutes Getting at least seven hours of sleep Taking at least 10 minutes for relaxation Earn one point for each activity for a total of four a day, with the goal of accumulating at least 100 points by the end of the challenge.
The Resolution Revolution challenge is a rewarding way to make positive changes that will impact your health for a lifetime. After just six weeks, you ll enjoy countless benefits: Reduce stress Maintain your weight Sleep better Increase your energy Overall, you can significantly improve your health and enjoy a better quality of life. In addition to kicking off the New Year with healthy habits, A small prize will be rewarded!
Thrive with five Did you know that eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables every day is one of the healthiest things you can do? It s true! Packed with nutrients and low in calories, fruits and vegetables can help you maintain a healthy weight while lowering your risk for developing a chronic condition, such as heart disease, diabetes or cancer. So add some fruit to your cereal, grate some carrots into your pasta sauce or reach for some dried fruit for a snack. However you do it, resolve to eat a rainbow, every day.
Get fit in 15 As you work your way through the Resolution Revolution, it s important to shake things up with some physical activity. Just 15 minutes a day can help you relieve stress, maintain a healthy weight and sleep better at night. And, over time, regular exercise will make you healthier, improving your quality of life. Remember every activity, no matter how small, counts! Tips for getting started: Pick an activity you enjoy Start slowly and build up Try to exercise at the same time every day Change up your routine to avoid burnout
Good days start with good nights When it comes to sleep, most people aren t getting enough. And, the less sleep you get, the less able you are to fight off colds, flu and other infections. The good news? You can repair the damage from sleep deprivation in just a few restful nights. So tonight, resolve to put on your pjs, turn off the TV and snooze for at least seven full hours. When morning comes, you ll wake up feeling energized and ready to take on your day.
Give stress a rest Stress is a fact of life. Although some stress is normal and even useful at times, too much of it can have a negative effect on your health. Make a point of setting aside at least 10 minutes a day to stop what you re doing, take a deep breath and relax. Tips to relieve stress and relax Soak in a warm bath Listen to soothing music Take a walk or do some other activity, such as yoga Laugh Practice relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation
Welcome to the finish line. When the Resolution Revolution challenge is over, that doesn t mean you should give up on the healthy new habits you ve developed over the last six weeks. Try to continue incorporating enough sleep, exercise, relaxation, and fruits and vegetables into your daily lifestyle. You ll stress less, have more energy for family and friends, and enjoy the rewards of a long and healthy life.
How do I sign up? How do I receive my prize? To join the Resolution Revolution, simply print a tracking sheet and begin the challenge. After six weeks, with a minimum of 100 points earned, complete a confirmation form and return it to RPS at: 2120 Fendall Avenue, Room # 107, Richmond, VA or fax to by March 25, All forms are attached and can also be obtained on the RPS Benefits website or by contacting Patricia Burgess at
