5 Sex And Gene Expression Conference From , SWHR convened 7 SAGE conferences that focused on the emerging field of sex-based biology. These conferences explored the frontiers of how biological sex influences the expression of genetic information throughout life-from embryonic development through adulthood Participants included leading established researchers and new researchers in biochemistry, genetics, and molecular, developmental, and cellular biology

6 What A Difference An X Makes: The State of Women s Health Research Scientific conference designed to raise awareness about the importance of sex differences in various diseases and conditions that affect both men and women or woman disproportionately 2008-October 3 rd 2010-July 16 th 2011-July 22 nd Geared towards a multidisciplinary audience: Academic researchers, service providers (clinicians and nurses), patient advocacy groups, federal agency employees, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, media reporters, and science writers, etc

Where appropriate, clinical and epidemiologic studies should be analyzed to see if there is an effect of sex or any of the major ethnic groups. If there is no effect, it should be so stated in Results. Circulation Journal General Preparation Instructions. Please provide sexspecific and/or racial/ethnic-specific data when appropriate, in describing the outcomes of epidemiologic analyses or clinical trials; or specifically state that no sexbased or racial/ethnic-based differences were present.

Vogt, et al (2011) Females report only slightly less exposure to combat than males. No differences in reports of perceived threat in war zone, resilience appears similar across genders
