2 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Assistant Scientist (2002- till date) Medical Officer ( ) ICDDR,B ICDDR,B Responsibilities at ICDDR,B Coordinator of the Maternal and Infant Nutrition Intervention in Matlab (MINIMat) study. The MINIMat study was a large intervention trial that was conducted in areas where Bangladesh Integrated Nutrition Program/National Nutrition Program (BINP/NNP) was implemented. This study was conducted to investigate the functional outcomes of four different interventions during antenatal period on pregnancy and pregnancy outcome. The effects of these interventions on health and nutritional outcomes of the birth cohort were also investigated. The study included women who were receiving food supplements under the BINP/NNP. The study investigated the effects of providing food supplement when it was provided earlier than the usual time of supplementation. It also investigated the effects of different combinations of micronutrient supplementation on pregnancy and pregnancy outcome. In addition, the MINIMat study also investigated the impacts of intensive breastfeeding counseling on breastfeeding patterns compared to usual health education. This study also investigated the effects of treatment for bacterial vaginosis on pregnancy outcome Principal Investigator of the Modelling Impact and Incremental Costeffectiveness of Introducing HepB, Hib and Rotavirus Vaccines into Routine Infant Immunization Programme in Bangladesh and Peru - a multi-country study in collaboration with London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
