2 ESOGETIC COLORPUNCTURE TM Page 2 The Color Mask of the Face Colortherapy according to Peter Mandel In order to describe the foundation of this specific stroking with color, we have to start by discussing the surface sensibility of the skin. The skin is the largest organ of sensation and it is exposed to all forms of external radiation. It has to process all those influences that we are not able to see, hear or feel. The newer research in the field of brain function describes the brain as a hologram, which ultimately casts its shadow onto every single cell - and that includes every cell of the skin as well. During the course of that certain reflex systems emerge. Just think of foot reflex zone therapy, the massage of the segments, ear acupuncture etc. One of the most important reflex systems that we have available is located in the face. The face can be compared to a seismic instrument, which records and visualizes the internal attitude, the inner joy or wrath, power, depression, fear - in short every single feeling. There are many different zones in the face that reveal to us what is presently going on in an individual. Beauty cannot exclusively be achieved through smooth skin and a pink complexion - corrections that can easily be performed from the outside. Real beauty originates from the inside and can only come forth when the individual is embodying the sum total of his experience and his general attitude towards life and starts to radiate it from the inside out. When the individual radiates, when he has a radiance, then he is beautiful! This radiance from the inside is what the application of the color mask is all about. It addresses the entire face. Unconscious processes can be made conscious through the combination of reflex zone and therapeutic color - without any further psychological or other measures. The people treated in this manner report that the 10 minutes, which the stroking of the color mask on the facial skin requires, are very pleasant and extremely relaxing. This relaxation is not limited to the face alone, but it extends to all areas of the body! Let me give you a description of the different zones of the color mask: Let us start with a point ( 1 = turquoise) that is located exactly between the eyebrows. It is called the general point of the skin and is related to all areas of the skin - from the earlobes to the soles of the feet. Traditional Chinese medicine calls it Yintrang. It is indicated for many different complaints, but in combination with the color turquoise it is one of the most important points in the treatment of the skin. Then let us look at the three areas on the forehead. The upper third of the forehead (2 = red) is the first zone of power - power in regards to physical strength and energy. This zone is being stroked with the therapeutic color red, which is the symbolic color for strength and energy and it has a relationship to an individual s blocked energies. The middle zone (3 = yellow) is also known as zone of the mind or intellect. According to the old traditions there is an area here that relates to the emotions. This zone or points and segments within this zone are for instance used in children with learning disabilities. The therapeutic impulses applied here are traveling to the limbic system, the mid-brain, which then increases the ability to take information in and thus improves the capacity to learn. The lower third ( 4 = blue) is the zone of rest. There the human being is most able
3 ESOGETIC COLORPUNCTURE TM Page 3 to assimilate impulses directed towards rest and relaxation. Of course any of these areas can be stroked with color just by itself. But it is the combination of these three zones that has such an extraordinary effect. We are using red - the strength, the aggression, the stimulation of the muscles. Then there is yellow, which liberates the mind and activates the intellect. And finally there is blue, which brings deep rest to the inner turmoil. The color stroking sequence is turquoise (midpoint between the eyebrows), red, yellow and blue. Another important zone is the area around the so-called nasiolabial groove ( 5 = turquoise). The width of this zone that extends from the center of the nose in a semicircle towards the corners of the mouth is about the size of the diameter of the color apparatus. The instrument PERLUX F 333 has been specifically designed for this type of color therapy, the color stroking of larger zones and segments. The stroking of the zone of decongestion with the color turquoise relates to the connective tissue. This zone is mandatory especially in regards to the treatment of cellulite or a firming of breast tissue! This treatment also has a psychological effect. It increases wakefulness and thus sensitizes perception. An increase in sensation equals an increase in alertness - in a dual sense: intellectually as well as physically. That completes the circle: mental alertness also means tone in the connective tissue and thus the skin. By now you are probably noticing that the treatment with the color mask does not only focus on the skin, but that its purpose is to decongest, to relax spasms - to smooth out and to upraise the entire personality. The following zone on the nose ( 6 = turquoise) extends from the area between the eyebrows to the tip of the nose. In complementary medicine the nose is considered to be the mirror of the spine. Until a few years ago the pathophysiognomists have been projecting deviations of the nose onto the spine. Structural deviations at the bridge of the nose found their reflections in the corresponding areas of the cervical or thoracic spine. Today the spine is also considered as the soul axis, which gets under pressure when there are psychological stresses or as it is expressed in common parlance, when we bend our backs. That also implies that the oxygen delivery is inhibited; deep breathing is only possible, when the spine is straight. We are treating with turquoise and are thus achieving a relaxation that makes an uprightness possible - physically as well as emotionally. The next two areas (7 = yellow) are the cause of much dismay for many people. We are talking about he upper and lower eyelids. A large number of people with psychological problems are suffering from swollen lids. Often there is an additional medical diagnosis like for instance thyroid dysfunction. The upper lid has a direct connection to the lymph system. If there is a congestion, then it shows in a swelling of the upper lid. As the lymph system correlates therapeutically to the color yellow, we are using the stroking with yellow when doing the color mask. Once the lymph starts to flow, the upper lid decongests. If we are looking even a little larger, then we find the traditional connection of the upper lid and the heart - not as an organ, but as an emotional state. The heart symbolizes freedom, humility, modesty, letting go and being able to give. That is our second important reason why we are using the color of the mind, the intellect here. Then we continue with the zones of the lower lids (8 = violet). Swellings in this area are physiognomically speaking an indication of the entire kidney and bladder system. The stroking with violet contributes to a decrease in these swellings.
4 ESOGETIC COLORPUNCTURE TM Page 4 The ninth zone of the color mask encompasses the area above the upper lip (9 = green) in a semi circle and it terminates on the right and left just above the nostrils. The color green is important in this context, because according to our observations the entire area of the upper lip is in general connected to detoxification. Green as a therapeutic color detoxifies and stimulates elimination. In the area of the right and left cheek (10 = red) we encounter another zone of power. Its semicircular range reaches from the outer edge of the orbit to the angle of the lower jaw. The term zone of power signifies the general life force and vitality of the individual. First we are stroking the left and then the right side with red. During this treatment red as the color symbol of life, of strength, of struggle tends to generate a feeling of tension/tone in the entire body, but particularly in the facial area. The eleventh zone (11 = orange) fills in the area between zones 5 (decongestion), 8 (lower lid), 10 (power) and 12 (chin). The color orange that is used for this zone symbolizes wakefulness, joy, warmth from the heart and goodwill; therefore we are calling this are the zone of happiness. First we are treating the left side and then the right. The next to last twelfth zone (12 = violet) of this large surface treatment corresponds to the entire chin area. We are using violet. The chin is connected to will and firmness. The meditative color violet balance the inner being in regards to these traits. Finally we are stroking the rims of both ears (13 = violet/yellow) - first the left one with violet, then the right one with yellow. This stroking down to the lobe contributes to the harmonization of the individual s polar balance. A stimulation of the right-left-coordination of the brain is also a goal. The face mask according to Peter Mandel is an excellent holistic and primarily preventive therapy and can also be used for self-treatment.
