1 AURORA HEALTH CARE BETTER TOGETHER FUND Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Prevention Community Advocacy Agencies Request for Proposal For more than 25 years, Aurora Health Care has been at the forefront of local efforts to address the critical and heartbreaking effects of assault and abuse. The Aurora Safe Mom Safe Baby program combines nurse case management, prenatal and perinatal care, and advocacy services to address the needs of pregnant women experiencing domestic violence. Sexual assault services and community outreach in particular are integral to Aurora s Well Community efforts. The Aurora Sexual Assault Treatment Center, Healing Center and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners provide care and crisis counseling to individuals affected by sexual assault. Aurora has experienced an increase in the number of assault survivors requesting services over the past several years. Aurora is in a one-time position to support community-based advocacy efforts that address the unique issues and challenges experienced by sexual assault survivors. This RFP is designed to support community-based advocacy agencies throughout the Aurora service area to provide training and service enhancement for established sexual assault and domestic violence programs. Any nonprofit agency not owned by a health system providing direct advocacy services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence located in eastern Wisconsin is eligible to apply.* The Aurora Health Care Better Together Fund includes a pool of up to $500,000 for this purpose. Awards will be considered ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 per eligible organization. * Exception: Programs affiliated with colleges and universities should apply directly using the University and College Partnerships RFP. Goal To increase and improve sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy service delivery and capacity to underserved populations. Proposals will be accepted by the Aurora Health Care Better Together Fund Advisory Committee at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation for the following purposes: Capacity building /expansion of advocacy services to currently underserved populations Expansion of the scope and/or quality of sexual assault and domestic violence services provided to a currently served population Interagency coordination and collaboration of services for sexual assault and domestic violence survivors Recruitment, training and/or expansion of the number of volunteer advocates Creative approaches to increase awareness, visibility and utilization of sexual assault advocacy services
2 Public information campaigns to increase awareness of sexual assault and domestic violence issues and/or prevention Deliverables Annual reporting of outcomes o Example metrics:! Increased advocates advocacy hours! Increased volunteers volunteer hours! Increased clients served! Increased services provided! Increased clients who receive accompaniment advocacy in their contacts with law enforcement or the justice system! Communication/collaboration with community-based SANE/Abuse Response programs! Number and percentage of clients who report that advocates helped to increase their knowledge and engagement in community resources that support their healing Evaluation criteria Proposals will be evaluated based on: The organization s capacity to meet the project goals described in the RFP The ability of the organization to demonstrate its project will:! Increase number of paid or volunteer advocates advocacy hours! Increase number of clients served! Increase scope of services provided! Increase clients who receive accompaniment advocacy in their contacts with law enforcement, or the justice system! Increase communication/collaboration with community-based SANE/Abuse Response programs!
