Transcriptional regulation of liver regeneration, intestine development and functions Patents Application: Transient abolishing KLF15 expression or protein activity for treating acute hepatic injury secondary to bile acid toxicity which occurs in some hepatic diseases and drug induced toxicity (e.g. tylenol overdose) Innovative Methodology: 1. Mouse ileectomy model to evaluate ileal resection-induced bile malabsorption, overaccumulation, and toxicity in animal or human intestine. 2. Mouse bile duct catheterization (BDC) model to constitutively collect the pure bile from conscious mice for proteomic or metabolomic analysis of mouse bile as a platform for various physio-pathological studies such as lipid and drug metabolism, and diagnosis and prognosis of human diseases like pancreatic and biliary tract cancers.
