Synergy incorporates patientpreferred wireless technology, a twin compressor operating system, speech optimisation, music prescription and an extended bandwidth of khz, providing expanded 16 channel adjustment and db dynamic range. At the heart of Synergy is our new Acuity Operating System designed to optimise audibility of speech as well as listening enjoyment of music in all environments. Acuity OS incorporates quad core twin compressor technology that allows distributed processing running two compressors in parallel to give patients the ultimate in both optimised audibility and listening enjoyment. 312 Power Plus Kinnect Wireless w () EasyFit CIC Key Features Dedicated Music Program: With the new dedicated music program, patients can take advantage of a unique compression architecture, along with new programming and fitting rationales designed to enhance the quality and listening experience of music. Acuity Lifescape Analyser: Our environment manager is our most rigorously tested environment detection system ever, designed for today s complex listening environments, creating pristine sound quality for patients no matter where they are. Ear-to-Ear Phone Streaming: is the first Starkey product to offer ear-to-ear phone streaming, allowing patients to enjoy phone conversations in both ears. Wireless CROS/BiCROS: is the first Starkey product to offer wireless CROS and BiCROS options on standard styles mini 312, and Power Plus. Multiflex : Starkey s patient-preferred sound stimulus, Multiflex, is available on all styles of. Wearers can stream any music or media played on their iphone directly to their hearing aids for a more immersive and impressive listening experience. Available Wireless Accessories Control, SurfLink,, SurfLink Control, SurfLink,, SurfLink Control, SurfLink,, SurfLink Direct connection to Apple products for streaming, remote control, remote microphone and mobile phone use None Hearing that s personalised for them. The SoundSpace tool on the app lets patients make minor adjustments to sound quality to suit their particular preferences. Hearing that happens intuitively. Geotagged memories automatically switch modes when the GPS feature on the iphone detects the patient is in a tagged location. An easy way to fine-tune audio on the fly. The visual indicator bar on the app provides nearly infinite levels of volume settings. Improved High Audibility. Our patented frequency lowering technology, intelligently identifies high-frequency speech cues and replicates them in a lower frquencies where they re easier to hear and understand. 4 ISO Compression. Knowing that speech is dynamic, our ISO Compression allows for independent control of soft, moderate and loud-level speech to enable a more personalised approach. 5

9 CROS System The Starkey CROS System includes products specifically designed for patients who need sound routed to a better hearing ear. Starkey s CROS solution transmits sound wirelessly from a microphone placed on a patient s non-functional ear to a receiver fitted on a patient s better hearing ear. Devices can also be configured as a BiCROS solution for a patient who needs amplification in his or her better hearing ear. Special Features Clear and consistent wireless streaming using sync technology Acuity OS 2 brings audibility and speech understanding to patients in any environment Full Adaptive Directional functionality on the CROS transmitter Compatible with mini 312 and hearing aids Telecoil standard in CROS receivers Compatible with SurfLink accessories General Information Transportation and storage conditions: Safety s: CROS & BICROS Fitting Protocol Terminology CROS (Contralateral Routing of Signal): One unaidable ear; microphone enabled One normal-hearing ear; microphone disabled BiCROS (Bilateral CROS): One unaidable ear; microphone enabled One aidable ear; microphone enabled Wireless CROS/BiCROS system is composed of: 1. Receiver: Worn on the normal-hearing ear or the ear with useable hearing enabled for BiCROS only Any device can be enabled as a Receiver The becomes a Receiver when brought into a fitting session with a Transmitter NOTE: The Receiver and the Transmitter must be the same style and have the same microphone configuration. Pairing The Receiver and the Transmitter must be paired and programmed together. If a Transmitter is ordered separately, the professional must pair the Transmitter and Receiver as a set in Inspire. To pair as a set: 1. Launch Inspire X. 2. On the Get Started screen, select View s, then choose the appropriate programmer and select OK. 3. Connect hearing aids to the fitting computer via the appropriate programming accessories. Refer to the Cables and Connectors for additional information regarding connecting the hearing aids. 4. If you are using a wireless programmer you will need to assign the Transmitter and Receiver to the appropriate ears. 5. Select Read Device Settings to start a new fitting session. NOTE: Receivers that have been previously fitted as hearing devices and are later being paired with a Transmitter will retain all of their settings. Initial Fit and Auto Path Initial Fit launches automatically when programming new hearing devices. 1. Select the appropriate Acoustic Options, then select OK. 2. Select the appropriate Experience with Amplification. Refer to the Experience Manager QuickTIP for additional information. 3. Insert hearing devices into the patient s ears, reduce all sources of noise, then select Begin to run the Auto Path. NOTE: If hearing device programming is conducted prior to the fitting appointment, re-run the Feedback Canceller with the hearing devices in the patient s ears. 4. Review the Auto Path results screen. Select Restart if Status is Incomplete for any steps, or select Close to continue. User Controls The User Control Configuration demo box will appear upon initial programming with Inspire X. Select Show Demo for demonstration of user control configuration options, or select Don t show again and Close. The User Controls can be accessed at anytime from the left navigation bar. Select User Controls on the left navigation bar, then open User Control Settings to setup the user control configuration. Initial Fit Memory Synchronisation The Transmitter and Receiver are always in the same memory. If they become out of sync, the Transmitter will switch to the same memory as the Receiver
10 To configure user controls for Volume Control: Drag Volume and drop it on the Transmitter and/or Receiver side. NOTE: Ear to Ear Volume Control is always enabled. To configure user controls for Memory Change: Drag Memory and drop it on the Transmitter and/or Receiver side. NOTE: Ear to Ear Memory Change is always enabled. To configure user controls for Level: Drag and drop it on the Receiver and/or Transmitter side. NOTE: Ear to Ear Level adjustment is not supported. To configure user controls for Balance Control (BiCROS only): Drag Balance Control and drop it on the Receiver and/or Transmitter side, then select Binaural or Sprinkler. NOTE: Ear to Ear Balance Control is always enabled. To configure user controls for Mute: Drag Mute and drop it on the Receiver and/or Transmitter side. If enabling Ear to Ear, both the Receiver and Transmitter will be muted via one user control. Quickfit and Fine Tuning Select QuickFit on the left navigation bar to make global fitting adjustments. Refer to the QuickFit and Fine Tuning QuickTIP for additional information. Volume Control Adjusts the audio level of both the Transmitter and Receiver. Balance Control Binaural: Pressing the user control will increase the microphone sensitivity on that device and shift the balance toward that side. The patient simply presses the user control on the device that they would like to be louder. Sprinkler: Initial direction (sprinkler down) will decrease the sensitivity of the transmitter microphone, regardless of which ear the device is on. Mute with Ear to Ear disabled Muting the Receiver: Mutes the output of the Receiver and no sound is heard, even if the Transmitter is active. Muting the Transmitter: Mutes the transmitter only. BiCROS memories result in audio only from the Receiver microphone. CROS memories result in no audio. Balance Control The BiCROS Balance Control adjusts the level of sound coming from the Transmitter relative to the sound coming from the Receiver. BiCROS Balance Control settings apply to all BiCROS memories. Changes will not affect the hearing device response. 1. Select CROS/BiCROS on the left navigation bar. 2. Select the Balance Control pin and move it closer towards the Transmitter side or the Receiver side to set the default Balance Control.
