1 Publications and Presentations Based on Our Research with Deaf Learners Early Education and Literacy Lab (EL2) Dr. Thomas E. Allen, Director National Science Foundation/Gallaudet University Science of Learning Center Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) July, 2017 The following materials have been produced based on two projects involving assessment of deaf learners: the VL2 Psychometric Toolkit Study, which involved comprehensive assessments of deaf college students, and the Early Education Longitudinal Study (EELS-I), which involved assessments of young deaf learners. While the analysis and understanding of how both early and late factors related to language, education, and individual learner s characteristics affect academic outcomes continues, these materials represent a portion of what we have learned and shared with the professional and constituent communities to date.
